SHAH ALAM, 25 FEB: The leadership of the Kelantan, Selangor and Penang Chief Ministers is hard to find in the country’s leadership history and in fact it has become an example of how Pakatan Rakyat will govern the country in future.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (People’s Justice Party) Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that the concept of ‘good governance’ practised by them makes PR states clean and transparent to a point that Umno-BN has no evidence of embezzlement.

He said that the three leaders should be an example to all other Pakatan Rakyat leaders.

“20 years, Rok Guru (Datuk) Nik Aziz Nik Mat was the Chief Minister of Kelantan, he never robbed the people’s money or property. He also did not go looking for extra ‘allowance’.

“This similar to the Chief Minister of Penang, Lim Guan Eng. I am proud of him. He is clean and caring.

“Although he has been described as an extremist, but in the history of Penang, there has never been a Chief Minister that holds to the principles of competency, accountability and transparency (CAT).

“Meanwhile Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim from PKR is a corporate example by recording a surplus in Malaysia’s records of facing serious deficit.

“However, he managed to record a surplus of RM2.6 billion although he faced strong pressure from the federal government,” he said in a keynote address at the 4th Pakatan Rakyat Convention at the Shah Alam Convention Centre.

Anwar Ibrahim added that the aforementioned is the strength of PR to prove that it cannot be challenged by any Umno-BN leaders.

In the meantime, Anwar explained that the purpose of PR winning over power is not for revenge, instead it is to implement the people’s agenda to restore what belongs to the people.
