Ampang, 23 Apr: MCA President, Datuk Seri Chua Soi Lek should have chosen Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat as the MCA candidate for the Pandan Parliamentary seat.
This is because, according to PKR candidate for the Pandan Parliament, Rafizi Ramli, Tee Keat is a good candidate for this area.
Instead, said Rafizi, Soi Lek is more interested in placing his good friend, Gary Lim Chin Yee as the BN representative against him when the people of Pandan are well aware of Ong Tee Keat’s good record throughout his term as the people’s representative here.
He said that good people like Tee Keat did not get a place in BN when BN Chairman, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, wants clean candidates to be placed to contest.
“It would be better if I contested against Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat, the residents of Pandan would have better options.
“It would be okay if I won or even if Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat wins,” he said at a talk at the Taman Bukit Teratai Food Court.
Rafizi who is also the PKR Strategy Director expressed his gratitude to Datuk Ong Tee Keat for ‘understanding’ that the people are in the atmosphere of bringing about change, thus toppling BN.
He also announced that Tee Keat’s effort and contribution over the years will be remembered and Rafizi also hopes that Tee Keat will contribute to Pakatan Rakyat if the coalition forms the government in Putrajaya.
For the 13th General Election, Rafizi will face a three-corner collision with Gary Lim (BN) and Independent candidate, Allan Tan Yew Leng.
