Establish Royal Commission to Investigate GE-13

KUALA LUMPUR, 15 May: DAP Advisor, Lim Kit Siang proposed the establishment of a Royal Commission of Inquiry to investigate and review the 13th General Election (GE-13) process right after setting up the Cabinet Ministers Council.

He said that the membership of the commission of inquiry must be agreed by both, BN and Pakatan Rakyat, not only by one side.

“This will be the first task (the ministers), to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry on the GE-13, to look into an unfair, unclean and dubious election process.

“The EC should be brought to the barn to be investigated because they are responsible in carrying out such a flawed election,” he said in a press conference today.

Lim Kit Siang said that the cabinet established needs to express a stance of supporting fully the 1Malaysia policy introduced by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak and to stop the practice of racial politics, especially after the GE-13.

In the meantime, the Pakatan Rakyat Presidential Council approved the proposal to hold a National Unity Convention as proposed by the Pakatan Rakyat Secretary General yesterday.

This convention’s purpose if to discuss the strengthening formula between races in Malaysia and may be held in early June.
