Police Refuses to Re-Investigate Altantuya’s Case to Cover-up Crime

SHAH ALAM, 9 SEPT: The police refusal to conduct a new investigation into the murder of Altantuya Shariibuu demonstrates the authorities are not interested in providing justice to the victims.

“They are not interested to find out who killed Altantuya. Apparently, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) is ignorant of the murder despite it being clear that several people were involved.

“They do not see the need to see who killed and to get justice for the victims of the murder.

“It is clear that they are being flippant, they do not want to know what really happened, this is a way to cover-up crime,” said the PKR Legal Bureau Chief, Latheefa Koya to TVSelangor.

IGP, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar today said that a new investigation is not needed and he wants everyone to respect the court’s decision.

Latheefa said that an unprofessional police investigation could affect a case in court.

“Unsteady police work, not complete and provides an incomplete investigation to the court.

“Of course the court must release the person if there is not enough evidence. The fault is in the police for conducting an unprofessional investigation,” she said.
