Sultan of Selangor Cup Organisers Receive A Cool Million In Donations


KLANG, 2nd SEPT: The Sultan of Selangor Cup Organising Committee received a donation of RM1 million from various corporations for organising the annual football match on 28th September.

The donation was handed over during a High Tea and Cheque Presentation Ceremony at the Istana Alam Shah, Klang.

The cheque was received by Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, who was keen on participating along in the high tea.

Accompanying His Majesty was the Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

This year’s main sponsor, MCT Consortium Berhad, had contributed RM400,000, followed by Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Berhad (Syabas) with the sponsorship of RM200,000, along with BHL Group Companies and Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB) who gifted RM100,000 each.

Other sponsors also included SP Setia Berhad, Splash Sdn Bhd, Taliworks Corporation Berhad and Tanjung Balai Group who all contributed RM50,000 each.

Additionally, Sultan Sharafuddin also expressed his interest in bringing the sponsors and VIPs to visit his Football Mini Museum.

This year’s 12th Sultan of Selangor Cup 2013 opening match on September 28 will see a veteran team match at 8.00 pm, followed by the main match at 9.00 pm.

The annual Sultan of Selangor Cup involves only two matches – the Selangor team vs Singapore, and Selangor’s veteran team vs Singapore’s veteran team.

The matches will be held at the Shah Alam Stadium
