KUALA LUMPUR, 13 Feb: The top leadership of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) 2014 will be announced no later than 13 May, after a nationwide poll is completed.
The Chairman of the PKR Election Committee (JPP), Datuk Johari Abdul, said that the Central level candidate nomination contest will take place on 29 March at the PKR Headquarters.
He said, for the Branch level, the nomination will be carried out for two weeks, following zone, starting 4 April to 13 April.
“The election polling date will be held for three weeks according to zones, beginning 25 April and ending on 11 May,” said Johari in a press conference at the PKR Headquarters today.
With the theme and atmosphere being ‘Gumbira’, Johari Abdul said that he will provide information to branch machinery across the country regarding this time’s election rules.
He said that the selection this time is based on the ‘one member one vote’ system.
“JPP will not hesitate to use its power to eliminate or prevent members from the Party Election or take any sanctions deemed appropriate on members who violate the code of ethics to enforce this code of ethics.
“Contesting candidates are barred from any action with the intent to buy votes as gifts in the form of cash, goods or offers.
“Speeches in the form of name-calling and slander are strictly prohibited,” he said.
He added that any disputes that occur should be brought before the JPP and is completely prohibited from being taken to the media or to the public.
