“Let it be informed, the Sungai Selangor dam, the dam which is the source of 60 percent of the water demand in Selangor, has experienced rain yesterday.

“Yesterday, the reading was at 37.79 metres. I hope that today (yesterday) it is more because we also conducted cloud seeding. We are still at the level of caution, as informed by the Chief Minister. When it reaches 55 percent, the water rationing will stop,” he told Selangor Kini yesterday.

Yunus said that the ration is expected until the end of April if the rain continues as usual and stressed that the water supply problem is not only happening in Selangor, but also in a number of other states.

Previously, the National Water Services Commission (SPAN) approved the fourth stage of the Water Rationing Plan, effective 4 April.

The Selangor Water Supply Company Sdn Bhd (Syabas) notified that the plan is implemented concurrently with the first and third Water Rationing Plan, which has been extended until April 30.
