Dengue: 34 deaths in Selangor as of July 12

SHAH ALAM, 24 July: A total of 34 deaths due to dengue in Selangor have been recorded from January to July 12, according to the Selangor State Health Department website www.jknselangor.moh.gov.my.

From the total, the district of Petaling recorded the highest number with 12 deaths, followed by Hulu Langat (9), Gombak (6), Klang (5), Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor with one each.

So far, the number of cases recorded across Selangor is 27,627 cases in the same period this year.

Petaling is in front of other districts with 12,074 cases, followed by Hulu Langat (5,837), Klang (4,332), Gombak (4,088), Hulu Selangor (387), Kuala Langat (380), Kuala Selangor (247), Sepang (181) and Sabak Bernam (101).

A total of 1,187 cases were recorded in the last week of the period; from July 6 to 12.

5.2

The public has been asked to take the necessary measures and to take care of cleanliness in preventing the outbreak of dengue.

The Selangor Health Department has also advised the public to cooperate by contacting the department or District Health Offices across Selangor to lodge a report.
