Entrepreneurs pleased if assistance grant is extended

SHAH ALAM, 28 Sept: The state government under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, will hopefully open up more opportunities for entrepreneurs in Selangor.

An operator of innovation sculpture art, Azizah Selamat, 46, hopes that the presentation of the budget this time will approve a larger grant for entrepreneurs.

She said that the assistance from the state government can certainly help spur economic development for the people of Selangor.

“If possible, I would like to expand my existing business so that I can employ youths who are talented in the field of sculpture.

“Not only will it be beneficial economically, but we can preserve our cultural heritage from time immemorial,” she told Selangor Kini.

She was among the participants of the PKNS (Selangor State Development Corporation) Entrepreneur Carnival at the PKNS Complex which is taking place from September 27 to 30.

Meanwhile, another participant, Normalis Mahmud, 42, hopes that the state government will create a one-stop-centre for small time entrepreneurs.

“There we can place out sales product and it will be much easier because everything is under one roof.

“I also hope that the state government will promote assistance programmes for entrepreneurs.

“It is because until now, the information has not reached even though I am aware that assistance is given, but many of my friends do not know,” said Normalis who sells various types of homemade biscuits.
