1,000 join cycling while enjoying the beauty of Pulau Indah

PULAU INDAH, 17 Nov: About 1,000 participants took part in the 20km on-road and 20km off-road cycling event around Pulau Indah.

The event was organised by Central Spectrum, a member of Darul Ehsan Berhad, in collaboration with the Klang Municipal Council.

This was aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and to foster relationship with the local residents, entrepreneurs and investors operating in Pulau Indah.

The Chief Executive Officer of Central Spectrum, Mahmud Abbas, said that the response of the cycling event was unexpected and encouraging from local operators and local residents.

The competition was divided into six categories according to age and gender.

Cyclist below the age of 18 were in the junior category, while men’s open was under the age category of 19 to 34, veteran juniors for those aged 35 to 45 and the last category was for those over 90 kilogramme.

“The cyclists had the opportunity to enjoy the green surroundings and peace in the morning.

“The route passed through the Royal Yacht Club, the public marina, the Laguna Houding Park, the town central, industrial park, light industrial area, Had Halal Selangor, the warehouse storage area, Taman Paya, and the jetty along Selat Lumut,” said Mahmud.

The challenges the cyclist had to go through include a sandy route, rocky trails, wetlands, villages and the forest.

The guest of honour, the Klang District Officer, Mohd Zainal Mohd Nor, presented the medals to the winners for the cycling event and also for the lucky draw event.
