CM: KIDEX & MHA should follow 3 conditions

SHAH ALAM, 20 Nov: Highway developer, Kidex Sdn Bhd, is required to submit a detailed account of the concession agreement with the Federal Government if they want the Selangor government to consider the approval of the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway project.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that he laid out three conditions that Kidex Sdn Bhd and the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) needs to follow and additional teams which have to be complied with before the concession agreement ends on February 15, 2015.

“There has to be public disclosure of the entire concession agreement which was extended,” said Mohamed Azmin after a discussion with MHA today.

Mohamed Azmin said that the two other conditions are the comprehensive announcement of the proposed toll rate and the returns of the Kidex project, including company share ownership and overall evidence on the impact assessment of the project’s benefits to the users and residents of Petaling Jaya.

“KIDEX Sdn Bhd and MHA must adhere to the three conditions before we can agree to evaluate this proposal or consider the application for the proposed expressway,” said Mohamed Azmin.

During the meeting, MHA presented a study that claimed that 80 to 85 percent of the 2,000 residents that stay near the project agree with the proposed construction.

“We told them that the actual document is required and we will review this matter,” he said.
