CM: No special treatment for Splash to finalise water agreement

SHAH ALAM, 16 Dec: There will not be any special treatment for Syarikat Pengeluar Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Splash) in the Selangor water industry restructuring agreement issue, said Chief Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali.

The statement thus denied claims by the former Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, that the state government is giving room to Splash to not finalise the water agreement last September.

“That is not true. We have finalised the agreement with Puncak Niaga (M) Sdn Bhd and the Selangor Water Supply Company Sdn Bhd (Syabas) last month.

“While for Splash, based on the original agreement, a period of one year (until 12 September 2015) is given to finalise the agreement with the state government and this was personally signed by Tan Sri Abdul Khalid,” he said when met by reporters today.

Previously, Abdul Khalid, through a report on The Malay Mail news portal, claimed that the state government is giving preferential treatment to Splash because the company has still not finalised the water agreement in September.

Abrul Khalid also reportedly reprimanded that state government under the leadership of Mohamed Azmin of not bowing to any form of pressure to a point of sacrificing the interests of the people.
