2,774 applicants eligible to receive Tawas in Seri Serdang DUN

SERI SERDANG, 1 Mar: A total of 2,774 applications for the Seri Serdang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) are eligible to receive the benefits of the Selangor Children’s Heritage Fund (Tawas) that was first introduced by the state government in 2008.

The Seri Serdang Assemblyman, Noor Hanim Ismail, said that the response for the programme under the Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor (MES) agenda in the DUN has been very encouraging since it was first introduced.

He said that they have also been actively conducting information campaigns from time to time as an encouragement to people who are eligible to apply to receive benefits from the programme.

“Every time there is a talk, we will spread information about this programme. In fact, it is also spread through the Selangor Kini newspaper, including information to parents to come to the DUN office.

“In addition to the Tawas programme, other MES agenda programmes have also received encouraging response at the Seri Serdang DUN,” he said at the Seri Serdang DUN Tawas Statement Presentation programme at the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) Indoor Stadium near here today.

At the event, 463 recipients were given Tawas statements worth RM100 to each child of Selangor registered.
