“PKNS will continue entrepreneur development programmes and identify areas to improve so that it can achieve its goal,” he told Selangor Kini.

Unlike entrepreneurship programme provided by other government agencies, Ishak said that PKNS does not provide funds to those who want to start a business.

Instead, he said that the corporation is instilling the culture of entrepreneurship that encompasses people from all walks of life and ages.

“Although PKNS is known as a real estate developer since its inception in 1964, we are serious about improving the development of Bumiputera entrepreneurs.

“We see a lot of space that can be filled to create more successful Bumiputera entrepreneurs, apart from it being one of PKNS’ corporate social responsibilities (CSR) to the people,” he added.

PKNS begun seriously carrying out entrepreneurship programmes since 1995 through the establishment of the Bumiputera Trade and Industry Community Secretariat (MPPB).

Among the entrepreneurship programmes carried out include the Umbrella Incubator Vendor, Bumiputera Sub-Contractors, Premises Rental, Seminar Room Rental, the Permata Young Entrepreneurship Programme (PUM), the Entrepreneurship Pilot Programme (PPU), PKNS MPPB Academy, Selangor Permata Club, GROW, Vio by PKNS, Biz Club, 5U and Retail 200.
