KUALA LUMPUR, 30 Aug: The eve of the 58th Merdeka is considered to be the most historic following the success of recording a total attendance of about 300,000 participants tonight.
Gelang Patah MP, Lim Kit Siang, said that the success is testament to the strong desire of the people who want to save Malaysia from corrupt leaders.
“Our goal here is to save Malaysia and that is why Najib needs to step down.
“If Najib steps down tomorrow, the value of the ringgit and shares will go up and the confidence of foreign investors will return,” he said at the main stage at Dataran Merdeka today.
Apart from Kit Siang, several key Pakatan Rakyat (PR) leaders will also present their speeches before 12.00 am.
Among them include the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) President, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and the former PAS Deputy President, Mohamad Sabu.
