Water supply to be restored in four districts today

SHAH ALAM, SEP 23: Temporary water disruptions in Petaling, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat dan Sepang are now in the process of being solved and is expected to end in stages today.

Kumpulan Air Selangor Corporate Communications Department Head Amin Lin Abdullah said that water supply to the four affected districts was stopped because of pollution to the raw water supply at the Semenyih River Water Treatment Plant at 6 pm yesterday.

“The plant is now back in operation, but water supply to the areas will only be restored in stages beginning this morning.

“Water levels in the four areas are being closely monitored, while water trucks have been sent till the water supply at all retention ponds are stable,” he said in a statement today.

The areas affected in Hulu Langat are Bangi, Bandar Bukit Mahkota, Kajang, Semenyih and Rinching, while in Kuala Langat, the areas are Morib, Banting, Bandar Saujana Putra, Bandar Rimbayu and Telok Panglima Garang.

“Petaling districts affected include USJ 1 till USJ 27, Puchong, Seri Kembangan and Serdang.

“For Sepang, the areas are Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Bandar Nusa Putra, Putra Heights, Pulau Meranti, Kota Warisan, Bandar Bukit Puchong and Sungai Merab,” he added.
