We condemn the latest terrorist bombing and shootouts in Jakarta yesterday which saw the slaughter of at least two innocent lives and the wounding of 24 others.
This latest brazen attack signifies ISIS rearing its menacing head finally in Southeast Asia via its “crusader alliance”.
This underscores their ruthless and violent campaigns to cause terror across the world even in the world’s largest Muslim democracy.
All right minded people regardless of nationality, faith or creed must condemn these dastardly acts of violence and murder and we must renew our resolve to fight religious, denominational and communal hatred.
Meantime, our prayers go to the families of the victims and we express solidarity with the people of Indonesia and the government of President Joko Widodo in their efforts to combat this scourge of terrorism that is now threatening this part of the world.
These acts of terrorism remind us once again of the troubled world we live in and the consequences that will ensue when people choose the course of violence instead of peaceful consultation.
We take this opportunity to call on all Malaysians to stand united for peace against all forms race-baiting and attempts at fomenting religious strife and affirm the principles of moderation and justice.
