30 Sementa constituency orphans celebrated

SHAH ALAM, NOV 30: A total of 30 orphans and the poor, were chosen and celebrated in a shopping programme in collaboration with Sahabat Penyayang Association on November 29.

Health, Welfare, Women and Family Development Exco Dr Daroyah Alwi said the initiative was taken to sympathize with orphans and the poor in Sementa area.

She said that they were taken shopping for their necessities at Giant Supermarket in Klang Sentral.

“The program was held specifically to help orphans and the poor for Sementa area.

“Congratulations also to Sahabat Penyayang Association for their concern and good initiative in helping those in need,” she said.

In the programme, participants were also treated to a meal at a fast food restaurant, in addition to receiving gifts in the form of stationary items, in preparation for the 2017 school session.

Public invited to 9 open houses in Sementa constituency

KAPAR, JUL 23: Sementa State Legislative Assembly Community Service Office took advantage of the Syawal month to hold nine open houses at nine villages in the area.

Sementa Assemblyman Dr Daroyah Alwi said such events strengthened relationships amongst the people, regardless of race, religion or political affiliation.

“We have eight more open houses later at the villages in the constituency.

“I hope the villagers will come together so we could get to know each other and strengthen the relationship among us,” said Dr Daroyah.

She said this at Sementa Constituency’s Joint Open House with Kapar Village Security and Development Committee near Al-Ansar Mosque, the previous evening during the open house.

Meanwhile, the open house was attended by nearly 1,000 people who started arriving since late afternoon.

In addition to giving ‘duit raya’ to children, food stamps were also distributed to 100 recipients present.
