Felda folk have change of heart: 15 – 30 “FELDA seats” for PR

himpunan-oren-gadai-aset-01
SHAH ALAM, 2 MAR – The FELDA Settlers’ Children Association (ANAK) believe that Felda settlers and their children will create a change in the in the GE-13.

Their claim stems from their overwhelming support that also serves to boost PR to win between 15 to 30 parliamentary seats at Felda areas.

This is a huge leap from the four seats it won along with a Felda scheme in Kedah during the previous elections.

ANAK Chairman, Mazlan Aliman admits that in previous years, 54 parliamentary seats with a Felda scheme were once considered BN’s ‘fixed deposit’.

“However, with the leap in support by the younger generation, I believe that this is a crucial time for Umno-BN,” said the PAS Committee member to TvSelangor.

Mazlan remarked that the shift in support to PR occurred because the settlers had become aware of too many mismanagement issues under Umno-BN.

The information had somehow permeated through the strict restrictions placed on ANAK activists and PR members and made it to the settlers.

“Restrictions do not mean that we cannot continue (to pass information). However, we must continue to pass on the message.”

“We approach the people with alternative media and maximum movement in the underground media. Most of it is already accessible,” he explained.

Initially, ANAK had been faced with restrictions and provocations by irresponsible parties to stop Felda settlers from receiving information regarding Felda and the position of Felda Global Ventures (FGV) stocks.

Video: 2013 Chinese New Year Message 2013 From The Chief Minister of Selangor

Salutations of Peace and Goodwill.

In the Chinese calendar, on Saturday, February 9, the Chinese community in Malaysia and the world will be having family dinners to mark the arrival of the Chinese New Year which will be celebrated starting from Sunday, 10 February 2013. This New Year is the year of the snake.

I am taking this opportunity on behalf of myself and the state of Selangor to congratulate and to wish prosperity to the Chinese community, particularly from Selangor, and to the rest of Malaysia.

“Xin Nian Kuai Le”

The two Chinese traditions, eating with family and giving out ang pau to children should be promoted among the people of various races, this state in particular. Furthermore, the ratio of the state population in Selangor, which is 5.3 million people, is almost balanced with 51% being from the Malay community and 49% of other races.

During this Chinese New Year celebrations, I believe that our friends from the Chinese community will always ‘open their home doors’ and happily welcome visits from friends of other races.

The attitude of being caring and shared prosperity is in line with the state government policy that helps the people through various welfare programs under the Merakyatkan Ekonomi Negeri Selangor policy since leading the Selangor Government in March 2008.

For the Chinese community, we have allocated RM5 million for Kampung Baru in the 2013 Budget. Aside from that, we have also provided an allocation of RM3 million a year for Non-Muslim Places of Worship which has never before been given by Barisan Nasional.

Since 2009, we have allocated RM6 million a year for Chinese national-type schools (SJKC) and RM2 million a year for private secondary schools.

According to the Chinese horoscope for the year 2013, which is symbolised by a snake, it is said that this year marks a period which will affect the lives of most people. For Malaysians, perhaps the 13th general elections this year will also change the federal government. This means that all Malaysians must prepare to make changes. This time lah!

Therefore, as Malaysians from a multiracial background should vote during the upcoming 13th general elections. In addition to retaining the state government in Selangor Darul Ehsan, we are also endeavouring to form a new central government that is fair, not corrupt and attentive to all Malaysians.

Finally, I would like to remind everyone to always be careful and to be considerate when driving. Hopefully, you will safely reach your destination.

That is all. Once again, I would like to say “Xin Nian Jin Bu. Huan Shi Ru Yi “.

(Hopefully you will change and become better in the new year)

“Ping An Ji Xiang He Jia Wang.”

“Min Lian Xin Zheng Guo Yun Zhuan”

(Peace and prosperity ensures family peace, Pakatan Rakyat’s new politics changes the fate of the Country.)

Thank you.

K Selangor Hospital Project Abandoned – another ‘kept promise’ by Umno-BN

TANJONG KARANG, JAN 4th: The queue to the ticket machine takes two whole hours after which the sick must wait at the waiting hall which is extremely hot and crowded so that patients can meet with doctors and receive medical attention. These are some of the hurdles that the local residents must overcome when they pay a visit to Hospital Tanjong Karang.

Some of the local residents, like Norfaezah Ismail, 51, sometimes end up standing during the entire waiting period at the now 46 years old hospital.

The truly disappointing fact is that the locals of Tanjong Karang, Sabak Bernam and Kuala Selangor should not be enduring this anymore as the Umno-BN regime had promised to build a new hospital. Nevertheless, after 13 years, the 60 acre site to construct the new hospital in Kampung Sungai Terap, Kuala Selangor remains an oil palm estate.

A sign board on the land reads “Planned Site for Kuala Selangor Hospital” and it is the only indication of the promise and that the site is to be a hospital.

Permatang State Legislative Assembly Coordinator, Mohd Yahya Mat Sahri said that the Umno-BN government realises the failings of the Tanjong Karang Hospital which was built in 1966 and planned to build a new hospital under the 7th Malaysian Plan in 1998.

However, Yahya says that despite the 13 years that the land has been allocated to the Ministry of Health, the construction has yet to begin.

Meanwhile, the current Tanjong Karang Hospital is already unable to support the growing needs of the expanding local populace in Tanjong Karang, Sabak Bernam and Kuala Selangor.

According to Yahya, other complaints by the locals include heavy traffic, lack of parking space, long waiting hours and a shortage of medical expertise.hospital-tanjong-karang-03

“The capacity of this hospital with only 114 beds is too small and offers on basic medical services such as childbirth and outpatient treatment.”

“To receive more elaborate medical treatment would require patients to visit the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang or receive referrals to the Sungai Buloh Hospital which is an hour away from Tanjong Karang,” Yahya mentioned in an interview outside the said hospital.

Another local, Misran Serman, 56, says that chronically ill patients and the elderly experience difficulty in accessing medical treatment at the current hospital.

“Cancer patients need to get follow-up treatments at another hospital because this hospital has only the most basic treatment such as haemodialysis and x-ray.”hospital-tanjong-karang-04

“Also, the specialists are only available at certain times,” says Misran who lives at Sungai Burong, Tanjong Karang.

The locals implore the Umno-BN government to fulfil their promise and resume efforts to build the new hospital at Kampung Sungai Terap.

Additionally, Yahya claims that there are elements of misuse of power among the parties involved, as the oil palm estate is still in produce despite the land being turned over to the Ministry of Health.
