SHAH ALAM, Jan 26: Pakatan Rakyat (PR) have a golden opportunity to govern and take over Putrajaya from Umno-BN in the 13th General Elections (GE-13) based on strong public support.
Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad said PR should seize this opportunity because Umno-BN is clearly in an uncomfortable position due to being pressured to hold the elections soon.
“This is the best opportunity for PR to take over the administration in Putrajaya. If we let it go, we will regret it for the next five years and we do not know whether we can create this atmosphere again.
“Now the community is with us. We are confident of the People’s Uprising Assembly (HKR112) in Kuala Lumpur. According to a professor of mathematics who we believe is smarter than Rais Yatim, the estimated number is 700,000. We believe this is the actual number.
“The point is now is the best time for a change,” he said in a speech celebrating the election machinery of Ijok and Bandar Tun Razak, here.
Also present was the Chief Minister of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
He said PR should inform the people that all the occurring problems such as the water issue in Selangor were designed to ensure the victory of Umno-BN.
Kuala Selangor MP Dr Zulkifli Ahmad said the 13th General Elections is where Umno-BN will have to fight the rise of the people.
“This elections promises to be a big change for the longest-reigning government on earth.
“They had too many past mistakes, thus not only PR but all the people are rising up to overthrow the Umno-BN government, along with some NGOs such as Anti-Lynas, Royalti, GMI and others,” he said.
