Youths Can Apply For Marriage Incentives Next Week

SHAH ALAM, 6 FEB: Starting from next week, youths who were married in January this year and are aged 35 and below, can apply to receive marriage incentives given by the State Government.

Malay Customs, Youth and Sports Exco, Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi said that the application forms are available at state assembly Service Centres throughout the state, to receive the RM200 incentive.

He said those who were born in Selangor are eligible to receive the incentive which is in the form of Tabung Haji savings for Muslims and for non-Muslims, they will be given premium savings certificates from Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN).

“We will start distributing the incentives form and youths can attain them from all Community Service Centres in every constituency starting next week,” he said during a press conference at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Secretariat Building.

Meanwhile, Dr Yunus said that there are no conditions such as a couple’s income, which will be taken into account apart from the condition that youths have to be a native of Selangor.

Prior to this, Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim announced that the giving of the marriage incentives will be funded through allocations from the 2013 Budget.

In addition to this marriage incentive, the youths involved will also be offered housing programmes undertaken by the State Government.
