SHAH ALAM, 14 Mar: The police and the Election Commission (EC) have been urged to take stern action against Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for slanderous accusations against Pakatan Rakyat (PR) in efforts to thwart the 13th General Elections by creating trouble.

PAS Information Chief, Riduan Mohd Nor said that the Deputy Prime Minister’s accusations are too severe and are seditious because it creates tension and anxiety in the community.

Prior to this, Muhyiddin at a Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for the new Perodua factory in Hulu Klang said that the opposition coalition will create chaos on the Election Days and that they will accuse the Election Commission (EC) of not being clean.

He said that the opposition is taking this action because they are becoming increasingly concerned that the people are rising up to support Barisan Nasional (BN).

Muhyiddin also said that the government has information on the matter by claiming that the opposition is devising a plan to create a chaotic atmosphere.

“As the number two leader in the country, his statement could trigger panic and various interpretations from the people.

“Did the Deputy Prime Minister not think before speaking by thinking about the implications that may be acceptable to the community, especially for Pakatan Rakyat leaders in his speech,” said Riduan in a media statement.

Riduan added that in the current situation, where the country is being threatened with violence and aggression in Lahad Datu and Sabah in general, the DPM is deliberately fanning the fire of enmity and fear of the people.

“He also insulted millions of people in this country to choose leaders and political parties of this choice with such statements.

“If it is true that he obtained the information through reliable documents, as he claimed, PAS Youth challenges the DPM to reveal the details of the said document,” he added.

He said that if Muhyiddin fails to produce the evidence, PAS Youth will not hesitate to urge PR leaders to file a defamation suit against him.

Meanwhile, the Propaganda Director or Youth Solidarity Malaysia (SAMM), Edy Noor Reduan said that the statement is ‘inverse’ and reflects a picture, as though the DPM is talking in front of a mirror.

“The people know who is planning to derail the elections in fact as of now, the same party is the one trying to deliberately delay the elections.

“Paint splashing, throwing stones, throwing eggs, all done by Umno because they are afraid of greatly losing the people’s support.

“Many Umno leaders who are involved in various scandals may potentially go to jail if Umno loses Putrajaya, which should give rise to panic,” he said.

Recently in Bukit Katil, Malacca, the People’s Independence Tour bus transporting Pakatan Rakyat speakers were stoned, incurring a broken glass window. This is the second incident in Malacca where the tour bus was attacked and the sixth since the tour began in September last year.
