Raja Ropiah Should Answer to Involvement in Land Scandal

4

DAMANSARA, Jan. 4: Senator Datuk Raja Ropiah Raja Abdullah should come forward to explain the latest land scandal in Selangor which ties her to a windfall worth millions of ringgit.

The insistence was made by the Chief of Wanita PKR, Zuraida Kamarudin this morning at a press conference which was also attended by PKR Strategic Director, Rafizi Ramli, and Selangor State Exco, Rodziah Ismail at the PKR headquarters.

“She should clarify whether the profits will be used for herself or to become a fund for the benefit of Wanita Umno Selangor.

“Whatever the answer is, this is a form of fraud which is not acceptable, especially when it involves Malaysian military pension contributions,” said Zuraida, who is also Member of Parliament for Ampang.

According to Zuraida, the Selangor Wanita Umno Chief’s misconduct just adds to the collection of scandals triggered by high-profile women in the Federal Government, including the Prime Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and Wanita Umno Chief, Datuk Seri Shahrizat Jalil.

“Rosmah with her expense in jewellery and luxury bags, and Shahrizat with her NFC scandal (National Feedlot Centre), all of which have so far gone unanswered by them.

“Now, Raja Ropiah appears with the latest scandal while before this, she had allegedly championed the single mothers in Selangor.

“Is this the face of Umno women leaders? I hope that an investigation can be carried out immediately on her,” insisted Zuraida.

She added that if Raja Ropiah still remains silent on the issue, a continuous motion will be made to provide pressure and insistence on the Selangor Wanita Umno Chief.

Previously, Rafizi exposed Raja Ropiah through the 223 acres of land granted free of charge to Alam Megah by Datuk Seri Najib Razak in 2005 as a response to the work of designing and building a military training college.

The land, which is located in the ‘prime land’ between Bukit Bandaraya Shah Alam and Bukit Raja, was originally acquired by the Federal Government and gazetted for the purpose of establishing a military camp.

Raja Ropiah had allegedly been trying to sell the land via her company, Alam Megah to Bakti Wira Development Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned company of Bousted Holdings Berhad.

Bousted is a unit investment of the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) which is responsible for maintaining payroll deduction contributions from military personnel.

CM: Only Military Camp Construction Approved

3

SHAH ALAM, Jan. 4: There is no other building approval, except for the construction of a military camp as specified before.

This means that the State Government will not approve any development applications for the land at the Bukit Raja Industrial Park, Klang, which has been ceded to the Federal Lands Commissioner.

According to a press statement issued by the Press Secretary of the Chief Minister’s Office, if there are any development and transactions conducted on those lands, then they are done without the knowledge of the State Government, which does not recognise them.

The decision was made yesterday at a meeting of the Selangor Economic Action Council (MTES) chaired by Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, after a briefing given by the Director of Lands and Mines and three district officers.

“We will not allow any development on the land except for the construction of a military training camp as specified, and that is after obtaining the consent of the Selangor State Executive Council (MMKN) and the Selangor Economic Action Council (MTES),” the statement quoted.

At the MTES meeting, the Chief Minister was informed that the land ceded to the Federal Lands Commissioner is designated for the construction of a military training camp and is still under the name of the Federal Lands Commissioner and not transferable to any other company or individual.

The Chief Minister said that the decision is in line with the State Government’s principles of being transparent, accountable and completely rejecting corruption and abuse of power for personal and political interests of which ultimately burdens the people.

K Selangor Hospital Project Abandoned – another ‘kept promise’ by Umno-BN

TANJONG KARANG, JAN 4th: The queue to the ticket machine takes two whole hours after which the sick must wait at the waiting hall which is extremely hot and crowded so that patients can meet with doctors and receive medical attention. These are some of the hurdles that the local residents must overcome when they pay a visit to Hospital Tanjong Karang.

Some of the local residents, like Norfaezah Ismail, 51, sometimes end up standing during the entire waiting period at the now 46 years old hospital.

The truly disappointing fact is that the locals of Tanjong Karang, Sabak Bernam and Kuala Selangor should not be enduring this anymore as the Umno-BN regime had promised to build a new hospital. Nevertheless, after 13 years, the 60 acre site to construct the new hospital in Kampung Sungai Terap, Kuala Selangor remains an oil palm estate.
hospital-tanjong-karang-02-300x199

A sign board on the land reads “Planned Site for Kuala Selangor Hospital” and it is the only indication of the promise and that the site is to be a hospital.

Permatang State Legislative Assembly Coordinator, Mohd Yahya Mat Sahri said that the Umno-BN government realises the failings of the Tanjong Karang Hospital which was built in 1966 and planned to build a new hospital under the 7th Malaysian Plan in 1998.

However, Yahya says that despite the 13 years that the land has been allocated to the Ministry of Health, the construction has yet to begin.

Meanwhile, the current Tanjong Karang Hospital is already unable to support the growing needs of the expanding local populace in Tanjong Karang, Sabak Bernam and Kuala Selangor.

According to Yahya, other complaints by the locals include heavy traffic, lack of parking space, long waiting hours and a shortage of medical expertise.hospital-tanjong-karang-03

“The capacity of this hospital with only 114 beds is too small and offers on basic medical services such as childbirth and outpatient treatment.”

“To receive more elaborate medical treatment would require patients to visit the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang or receive referrals to the Sungai Buloh Hospital which is an hour away from Tanjong Karang,” Yahya mentioned in an interview outside the said hospital.

Another local, Misran Serman, 56, says that chronically ill patients and the elderly experience difficulty in accessing medical treatment at the current hospital.

“Cancer patients need to get follow-up treatments at another hospital because this hospital has only the most basic treatment such as haemodialysis and x-ray.”hospital-tanjong-karang-04

“Also, the specialists are only available at certain times,” says Misran who lives at Sungai Burong, Tanjong Karang.

The locals implore the Umno-BN government to fulfil their promise and resume efforts to build the new hospital at Kampung Sungai Terap.

Additionally, Yahya claims that there are elements of misuse of power among the parties involved, as the oil palm estate is still in produce despite the land being turned over to the Ministry of Health.

Deepak Personally Submitted RM13 Million Jewelry Purchase Documents

4

PETALING JAYA, 3 Jan: Disclosure of documents showing the purchase of jewelry worth RM13 million claiming to be for the Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor is authentic and was personally handed over by carpet dealer, Deepak Jaikishan.

PKR Strategy Director, Radizi Ramli, in a press conference today said that Deepak had submitted all documents to a particular individual who contacted him previously in hopes that it would be taken up to PKR leaders.

According to Rafizi, the documents were then handed to him by that individual, who is also a PKR leader, to be checked and to confirm its validity.

“I did not take any action because I was of the opinion that it did not posses elements of public interest in the event of someone splurging in giving gifts to VIPs without evidence of favours or projects involved.

“Following the action of Boustead Holdings Berhad in announcing that they will be paying RM160 million to buy land owned by Deepak’s company and land from Awan Megah Sdn Bhd, I am of the opinion that it opens a whole new dimension that Deepak’s previous claims are associated with public interest.

“After inspecting the documents and additional information, I am certain that is has sound basis to be investigated by the authorities,” he told reporters this morning at the PKR headquarters here.

In accordance to that, he said, Deepak’s statement should be made evidence in the upcoming investigations by the authorities seeing that the documents involve his own company and business transactions.

Rafizi added that he also has received agreement from the individual who received the documents to prove that it was obtained from Deepak.

“This clearly proves that Deepak’s mannerism and behaviour before this is not closely related to PKR.

“It denies Umno-BN’s attempt of accusing this to be dictated by PKR. In fact, Deepak himself expresses his disappointment because PKR leadership was seen as reluctant to discuss with him.

“Therefore,, after holding discussions with party leaders, I met with Deepak to examine all evidence in his possession, as claimed previously,” he said.

Yesterday, Rafizi revealed the documents which he claimed to be proof of jewelry purchase, by Deepak’s company, from two companies in Hong Kong.

Among the documents revealed by Rafizi were invoice e-mails of diamond purchases from Dehres Limited and Firestone Co. Ltd and the payment slips through two banks.

Other documents showed transactions worth USD 3.9 million (RM 11.8 million) for the purchase of rings and earrings from Firestone Co. Ltd..

All jewelry was paid by Deepak’s two companies, Carpet Raya Sdn Bhd and Carpet Plus Sdn Bhd within the time span of three months from March to May 2009, after Datuk Seri Najib Razak became Prime Minister.

However, in some reports yesterday, Deepak denies buying the jewelry.

Respect Keng Yaik’s Contributions, Allow Water Industry Restructuring

3

SHAH ALAM, 3 Jan: The Federal Government should respect the efforts of the late Tun Dr Lim Keng Yaik as a leader who has contributed a lot to the development of the country and allow restructuring of the water industry in Selangor.

Furthermore, the late Keng Yaik played an important role by reviewing the privatisation policy of the Federal Government water service which can be seen as not favouring the people’s interests, said Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

“The State Government is committed and working hard to continue his efforts of wanting to revise the water services industry by implementing the requirements of WSIA, as championed by the late Tun Dr Keng Yaik,” said Abdul Khalid in a statement at the Selangor Chief Minister’s Press Secretariat.

In relation to that, the State Government has urged the Federal Government to take serious action in implementing the restructuring of the water industry.

“The Federal Government should honour the efforts of the late Dr Lim to restore the water rights to the people and to allow the Selangor Government to manage the water services for the well-being of the people in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

“Datuk Seri Peter Chin Kah Fui should shoulder this responsibility in accordance with the powers available to him according to WSIA,” added Abdul Khalid.

The late Keng Yaik was the Cabinet Minister responsible for introducing the Water Services Industry Act 2006 (WSIA) which returns the water rights to the state government.

“He has previously led different ministries such as the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities as well as the Ministry of Energy, Water and Communications.

“However, he always worked hard by researching and making preparations so that every decision made is relevant to current changes,” said Abdul Khalid who was unable to pay last respects to Keng Yaik as he is currently overseas.

However, the Chief Minister managed to visit the late Keng Yaik’s family as a sign a sign of last respect.

Pakatan Can Guarantee Price Stability of Oil Palm, Rubber

2

PETALING JAYA, 3 Jan: Pakatan Rakyat (PR) will be implementing several measures to ensure the commodity price stability of oil palm and rubber, involving about 3 million Malaysians should they be given mandate to rule the country.

Among them is to establish the National Commodity Welfare Fund with basic contributions of RM100 million per year to create a social network that helps every family relying on this commodity.

Apart from that, PKR Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that PR Governments will revamp the export permit system that is providing multiple benefits to some at the expense of the country’s oil palm production prices.

Additionally, PR administration will carry out close cooperation with the farming industry to reduce dependence on Indonesian migrant workers in the sector.

“Diplomatic relations and relationship with the government and the people of Indonesia should be strengthened because Indonesia is the largest palm oil producer in the world.

“Relationship with the government and the people of Indonesia that fractured under the administration of (Prime Minister) Datuk Seri Najib Razak has complicated any adjustment efforts and cooperation to deal with the uncertainty of the world commodity markets.”

Anwar said this here at a press conference at the PKR headquarters today.

Anwar informed that the Selangor Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim has been chosen to head a special task force to formulate detailed programmes to be policed upon.

According to Anwar, Abdul Khalid was selected on the basis of his expertise in leading national giant plantation companies.

He added that Najib’s administration policy of awarding oil palm export permits to stakeholders has resulted in the dumping of crude palm oil local markets.

He explained that this happens when companies that do not have export permits are unable to sell it in the international market because taxes cause their commodity to be more expensive that cargo from other countries.

As a result, the output of these companies are dumped locally, making the price of oil palm continue to drop. This is in addition to the existing drop in international markets,” he added.

Anwar said that the price of crude palm oil has decreased by 23 percent within a year, with the latest average price of RM2,477 per metric ton (first week of January 2013), compared with RM3,255 per metric ton last year.

While the offer price of grade SMR CV scrap rubber for the first week of January 2013 is RM9.61 per kg, compared with RM10.87 per kg during the same period last year ( a decrease of 12 percent).

Deepak Has Spent RM13 Million Before to Buy Rosmah’s Jewelry

8.1

PETALING JAYA: Today PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramili revealed invoices of jewelry purchases worth RM13 million for the Prime Minister’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, by carpet dealer Deepak Jaikishan.

He claimed that the invoices from two companies in Hong Kong proves that Deepak paid as much as RM13 million as a reward in a land transaction.

He produced the document which he claims to have obtained, through a middleman, from Deepak.

Rafizi said that the purchase of 19 types of jewelries including rings, necklaces and diamond earrings, were made within a time frame of three months starting from March to May 2009, after Datuk Seri Najib became Prime Minister.

Even Rosmah’s name appears in an e-mail document that was sent by the employee of the diamond company involved.

Among the documents revealed by Rafizi were invoice e-mails of diamond purchases from Dehres Limited and Firestone Co. Ltd and the payment slips through two banks.

All the jewelry was paid by Deepak’s two companies, Carpet Raya Sdn Bhd and Carpet Plus Sdn Bhd, within the three months.

“In fact, after checking, the company engaged in the jewelry business does exist and has been operational since 2000.

“Rarely, purchased jewelry exists in the collection of the company,” he said in a press conference at the PKR headquarters.

In relation to that, the people on his side asks Deepak to reveal the original documents and Rosmah will be called to come forward to give an explanation.

“We want this matter to be investigated and we will make reports to the police and to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) next week,” he said.

2012 Curtain Closes: Selangor Government Further Strenghtens, the Envy of Umno-BN

1.1

1.3

COMMENTS: As the 2012 curtain comes to a close, Pakatan Rakyat (PR) continues to prove its ability to govern states under its leadership with many resounding successes throughout its reign.

1.2

Among the achievements that are considered as major milestones of PR in 2012 includes the acknowledgement of the Auditor General, headed by Tan Sei Ambrin Buang, towards good fiscal management by Selangor, Penang, Kedah and Kelantan Governments.

According to the Auditor General’s 2011 Report (LKAN) which was tabled in Parliament on October 15, it clearly demonstrates the financial management of states under PR are far better, leaving behind states administered by Umno-BN.

Among the acclaimed in the LKAN report was that the monies raised by the Selangor Government has increased by R62.5 million compared to the previous year.

Selangor also recorded its own history when, for the first time, the State Government reserves reached more than RM2.5 billion.

Apart from that, the response of the people of Selangor towards various agendas under the ‘ Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor’ by the State Government has also been the envy of Umno-BN.

Until September 30, 2012, the State Government has spent RM766,913,379 for the success of 16 assistance programmes or assistance schemes, for the people of Selangor since the programme was launched.

At the same time, a total of 166,441 people of Selangor and 1,303,601 households have received various benefits from the programmes.

Among the programmes introduced are Free Water Supply, Selangor Microcredit Scheme (SkimSel), Children’s University Entrance Gift, Golden Age Friendly Scheme (SMUE), Selangor Children Heritage Fund (TAWAS), People’s Tuition Centre, Urban Microcredit Scheme (MiMBAR), Selangor Kindergarten Assistance Scheme (TUNAS) and People’s Care Assistance Scheme (SiKembar) as well as others.

Umno-BN Fights With Slander

1.3

Thus, it is not surprising when Umno-BN madly attacked and defamed the Selangor State Government to ensure that the richest state returns to to them.

Among the insane actions taken by Umno_BN includes the fictitious ‘Selangor Water Crisis’ advertisement project which was held at an apartment in Petaling Jaya on September 24.

However, this immoral political game shattered when several media, including TV Selangor itself, managed to sniff out the such activities.

On location of the filming, TV Selangor managed to be informed by several actors that they had paid RM50 for the success of several profanities describing ‘Water Crisis in Selangor’.

1.4

The filming also became hilarious when tankers supposedly supplying water to ‘victims of water crisis’ did not only no carry a drop of water, but the ‘victims’ themselves took tap water before filling it into buckets which were brought as filming props.

The residents were unhappy with the action and also notified that their homes have never experiences water outages as the fictional film was trying to depict.

Meanwhile in October, residents at Taman Medan Cahaya also became victims of Umno-BN’s dirty politics when they were manipulated to participate in a demonstration demanding 20 cubic metres of free water from the State Government.

1.5

However, the Block B Resident’s Association Chairman, Mohamad Fuad Jam Jam and a resident of Block H of the apartments involved, A Ramlee Yahya, informed that the involved apartment had already received free water supply since 2011.

In addition to that, Mohamad Faud also informed that before the demonstration was held, the association was informed by the demonstration organisers that the main purpose of the demonstration was to protest the publication of a film that insulted Prophet Muhammad, thus causing confusion among the residents.

Ever-Increasing Political Violence

Due to mounting pressure to return to power in PR states and to maintain power in Putrajaya, Umno-BN has been continuously acting insanely by violently hindering PR’s advancement.

1.6

Several violent incidences involving Umno-BN supporters against PR supporters at a ‘ceramah’ site, either in Selangor or other states, have become among the heated topics of 2012.

Lately, at an incident at Negeri Sembilan, ANAK Information Chief, Naraza Muda was wounded in the head and passed out after being beaten with a sharp stick by Umno-BN supporters in the Orange Travel Convoy on December 23 recently.

Meanwhile, two PR supporters also suffered injuries after being attacked by a sharp weapon by Umno-BN supporters at a PR ‘ceramah’ in Gombak on December 4.

1.7

Another most talked about Umno-BN violent incident in 2012 was the series of attack on the ‘People’s Freedom Tour’ (Jelajah Merdeka Rakyat) convoy including the ‘Independant People’ (Merdeka Rakyat) bus which PKR Opposition Leader, Datuk Anwar Ibrahim, was travelling in.

What’s more unfortunate was that the the police themselves did not show eagerness to overcome these violent political issues, thus letting it continue.

Malay Reserve Land Mortgaged

1.8

Apart from violent actions against supporters of the opposition party, Umno-BN also shamelessly plays the race card to scare Malay voters into thinking that they would lose their political power.

However, unfortunately for Umno-BN, their efforts did not cause the maximum impact that they expected when their violent acts were also ridiculed by the general public.

In addition, Umno-BN’s patriotic action was also wasted with the expose of the old party’s betrayal of selling State Government-owned land and Malay reserve lands.

Inn Selangor alone, from 1999 to 2008, an estimate of 24 land lots belonging to the State Government, with an estimated value of RM300 million, which was obtained by Umno-BN in the Umno-BN administration era, was sold at a low price or were transferred to third parties.

Umno-BN was also smart in easily making money by inserting their interests in every transaction of the sale of land to third parties.

1.9

Thus, the people of Selangor should make a wise decision in the upcoming elections in 2013.

If measures in terms of performance, it is not a difficult choice for the people of Selangor because performance records of over four years under the Selangor PR administration and the Umno-BN’s administration records of 55 years, tells everything.

KJ Has To Answer How Easy Bank Loans Worth Millions Were Dissolved?

1

SHAH ALAM, 30 Dec: Umno Youth Chief, Khairy Jamaluddin (KJ) has been urged to answer allegations regarding the issue of millions of ringgit worth of loans from Bank Pertanian Malaysia Berhad associated with him when his father-in-law, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi was still holding the position of Prime Minister.

The outstanding loans has been said to be disolved, creating unease among bank officers who managed the easy loan.

This is according to Youth Solidarity Malaysia (SAMM) Coordinator Chegu Bard, on TV Selangor today.

“I have the data, the loan was taken out before the 2008 General Elections however, Khairy has not even paid once,” said Chegu Bard or Badrul Hisham Shaharin (his real name).

Chegu Bard who still does not want to disclose the amount of the loan also questioned the purpose of the loan.

“For an ordinary farmer, just to borrow a few thousand ringgit, there are a number of conditions that need to be met such as the proposal and so on. What proposal did Khairy give to enable him to acquire the loan; which is not little.

“Usually, when most people do not pay off their loan, like car loans for example, they will chaotically hide their car behind their houses, afraid that it would be repossessed.

“Is Bank Pertanian giving different treatment to VIPs such as Khairy until a loan worth millions of ringgit can be dissolved just like that, given that the bank is owned by the government and its functions are to assist farmers to develop themselves in the field of agriculture?” he added.

Memo To The Agong If No Action Is Taken Against Deepak’s Disclosure

4

KUALA LUMPUR, 27 Dec: Pokok Sena Member of Parliamentm Datuk Mahfuz Omar has condemned the authorities action of being quiet about the allegations of carpet businessman, Deepak Jaijishin against the family of rime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.

He said sternly that the attitude of the Police, the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) regarding Deepak’s allegations involve the dignity of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

“I hope that in the next two weeks, all parties involved will give their reaction to the people.

“If not, I will send a memorandum to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong,” he said at a press conference here at the PAS headquarters.

In his series of interviews, Deepak had claimed that Najib played a role in the issue of the withdrawal of private investigator P Balasubramaniam’s first statutory declaration (SD) in 2008.

The first SD has been said to link Najib with the murder of Mongolian woman, Altantuya Shaariibuu.
