CM: KAFA Teacher’s Welfare Continues To Be Taken Care Of

3.1

SHAH ALAM, 29 JAN: The State Government will endeavour to raise the dignity and to overcome the problem of Fardhu Ain Class (Kafa) teachers and the People’s Religious Schools (SAR – Sekolah Agama Rakyat) in efforts to make Selangor a scholarly and educational hub.

3.2

Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid said that problems such as poor school infrastructure, salary, position stability, pension and allowances of Kafa teachers and SAR will continue to be addressed by the State Government.

Abdul Khalid said that the problems faced by SAR is due to the Umno-BN administration era where these religious schools were built without careful planning.

Therefore, the State Government needs time to figure out the best way to overcome the problem of poor infrastructure, said Abdul Khalid.

“To curb this problem, I have directed every housing development to prepare a plan that has a site for schools, suraus and mosques so that this matter will be given attention right from the beginning,” he said.

3.3

Abdul Khalid said this in his speech at the Selangor Religious Schools Principal’s Assembly at the Selangor Youth Complex here today.

Also present was the Education, Higher Education and Human Capital Development Exco, Dr Halimah Ali, the Selangor Islamic Religious Department Director Datuk Marzuki Husin, and almost 4,000 Kafa teachers from across Selangor.

Abdul Khalid also said that several early initiatives have been undertaken by the State Government such as to raise the allowance of Kafa teachers from RM700 to RM1,000 per month, which has benefited nearly 6,000 Kafa teachers across Selangor.

In a question and answer session with the Kafa teachers, Abdul Khalid said that the State Government is currently discussing with Jais so that all Kafa teachers with permanent positions will be absorbed into permanent positions.

“The Government will continue to conduct discussions with the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) and several other parties such as the religious teachers association, so that not even one Kafa teacher will hold a temporary position in the future,” he said.

However, facilities after retirement such as a pension fund cannot be provided because Kafa teachers are civil servants.

“We encourage Kafa teachers to look for other alternatives such as contributing to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) so as to not face problems later on,” he said.

In reply to questions about the additional pay increment for Kafa teachers, Abdul Khalid explained that the State Government is emphasising revenue per household instead of individuals to be used as a measure for the poverty level.

He said that the State Government has set the poverty line at less than RM3,500 per month per household.

“For that, we will provide specific skills training courses so that they can improve their skills and increase the standard of living,” he said.

Sarawak Government Should Emulate Selangor

2.1

CHERAS, 29 JAN: The experiencing of receiving various benefits in the four years of residing in Selangor will be told by the Sarawak community here to the people of their villages so that the state can make changes in the upcoming elections.

This was voiced by Sarawakians who have been residing in Selangor and have been enjoying a variety of benefits such as 20 cubic metres of free water and TAWAS funds as a result of a trustworthy, efficient and a welfare state administration of the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat.

The Tuai Rumah in the Sarawakian village in Taman Sunway Cheras, Sylvester Papuh, 45, said that the efficiency and trust of Selangor PR can be seen by how the Selangor Chief Minister is able to obtain the highest benefit from the money spent.

Sylvester said that the Sarawak Government’s annual expenditure is RM4 billion for more than three million people compared to the RM 1 billion used by the Selangor Government for almost six million of its residents.

“The Sarawak government should practise a more efficient administration system because Sarawak is a state with various sources of wealth.

2.2

“The is still a lot of unfinished business, the young generation (in Sarawak) should take this opportunity to evaluate what this state (Selangor) has that still has not been given to Sarawak,” said Sylvester who has been residing in Selangor for more than two years.

He was interviewed after his garden received a visit from Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim at Sunway Cheras.

For Alexander Ujin, 30, who has been residing in Selangor for 13 years said that Sarawak has now been far left behind.

He said that the people in Sarawak are urged to immediately make changes in the upcoming 13th General Elections (GE-13) for a more secure future.

“In Sarawak, we live in the rural areas and use water from the mountains for our daily living. The pipes provided by the Government cannot be afforded because of their high cost that burdens the people,” said Alexander who comes from Serian.

Jusa Kuin, 32, also is happy to be residing in Selangor compared to Sarawak because of the more secure welfare such as the provision of the free water scheme as well as being able to enjoy the rapid developments.

“I have been residing in Selangor for 10 years and I feel that this state has improved since PR became the State Government that has been proven to take care of its people,” he said.

In the meantime, Abdul Khalid asked so that residents in Sarawak who are residing in this state to be ‘ambassadors’ to tell of the changes that has been carried out by the PR Government in Selangor.

He said that the Sarawak Government has still failed to fulfil its responsibilities to the people despite having various resources of wealth.

“It is good if we can change the government, we will be able to get more that we got before,” said Abdul Khalid.

Previously, the Selangor Government led by Abdul Khalid had promised to rebuild a longhouse in Saratok, Sarawak, which was destroyed in a fire.

This promise was fulfilled early this January and the Rumah Unding longhouse opening ceremony was personally officiated by the Chief Minister of Selangor and was also attended by Dr Xavier who is the Health, Plantation Workers, Poverty and Caring Government Exco.

Old Picture of Exercise Books Displayed to Tarnish The Image Of Teluk Datuk Assemblyman

6.1

SHAH ALAM, 28 JAN: The issue of Free Exercise Books contributed by the State Government that was allegedly failed to be distributed by Teluk Datuk Assemblyman, Philip Tan, is an issue that is deliberately designed to tarnish his image as the 13th General Elections (GE-13) draws closer.

When contacted, Philip said that the image that was displayed by a former DAP member, Yap Kon Min, on the media recently was an old picture because the exercise books have already been distributed to students who need them.

6.2

He said that before this, the exercise books were received late by the constituency Service Centre, causing it to be kept and distributed at an appropriate time.

“When we received the exercise books, school (session) had already begun and when I distributed them, the principal said that the exercise books were late in being distributed.

“The picture shown is an old picture because they intend to make it an issue even though it has already been a year or two ago,” said Philip.

Philip explained that the allegation was deliberately thrown by the former member of DAP who was fired, to hawk stories to defame DAP assemblymen in all areas that the party is contending in.

“It is like they are agents for Barisan Nasional,” he said.

Philip said that now, the books have already been distributed and just a little have been set aside for students of the Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM – Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia).

“Allegations that 10,000 books have not been distributed is a false claim.

“Now, there are only 1,000 books left to be allocated to SPM students,” he said.

‘I’m Not A Hero, I Just Want The People To Get Free Education’

6.1

KUALA LUMPUR, 18 JAN: Education is the right of every citizen, just like shelter and food, and I am also not a hero to be exalted because I believe that there are many more fighters carrying out various efforts, better than me, for the sake of the people, said KS Bawani.

Bawani who is now in her second year of law degree at University Utara Malaysia (UUM) received various support from all walks of life for her courage in voicing the idea of free education in a forum.

The footage from the forum saw how Bawani’s argument was brought to a halt by the actions of the forum moderator, Sharifah Zohra Jabeen Syed Shah Miskin who took away the microphone which was in front of Bawani as she was delivering her arguments.

Following the incident, she is now a household name and has become an icon of university students who are bold in voicing their views that are clearly against government policies.

“Do not look at me as though I am in the sky because I am only a short human who is voicing in demand for justice for all.

“I am confident that Malaysia is able to provide free education like those exercised in countries like Cuba, Brazil, Argentina which have less national income than Malaysia.

“Education is not a business, commodity or a good that can be bought and sold, it is the right of every human being,” said Bawani.

Bawani, who also holds a Bachelor of Psychology from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) attended a press conference today organised by the organisation that she herself is a coordinator at, Coalition to Demand for Free Education (GMPP) at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall here, this morning.

According to her, students should be freed from the shackles of leaders or the government to ensure the rights of students in expressing their views and new ideas for the sake of the country’s development as enshrined in the National Constitution.

“It needs to be implemented in our daily life and not just on paper.

“The university should also be neutral and independent without being blanketed by efforts to ‘brainwash’ certain quarters.

“Let students assess themselves what is good, and what is bad,” said Bawani.

At 28 years old, Bawani is consistent in her fight and is even active in non-governmental organisation (NGO) movements in fighting for the rights of the people since she was in her teens.

Since being involved in NGOs such as the Communication Development Centre (CDC); the main wing of the Socialist Party of Malaysia at the age of 19, Bawani has actively been giving extra classes for free at estates and villages.

HKR 112: Pinnacle of Success For All Assemblies and Demonstrations

3.1

KUALA LUMPUR, 18 JAN: The presence of hundreds of thousands of people at Merdeka Stadium in conjunction with the People’s Uprising Assembly 112 (HKR112) on 12 January is the pinnacle of success to all assemblies since 1998 because the police finally bowed to the desires of the people to peacefully assemble.

3.2

According to HKR112 Committee member, Hishamuddin Rais, the police had to comply with the desires of the people who wanted to gather which has never before happened at any previous rallies.

“If previously the act of rallying was criticised heavily because it could jeopardise national security, finally, after 15 years of our struggle for justice, the police had to give way to our rights that has all these time been denied,” said Hishamuddin.

HKR112 this time was different from the Bersih 3.0 rally because then, there was violence when the police tried to stop the people from voicing their rights.

“HKR112’s success is not due to transformation by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak but the presence of people of all races and ages that gathered and were allowed to speak out,” said Hishamuddin.

3.3

He explained that the real meaning of an assembly is not just to struggle against police violence of the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) but to fight against the despotic leaders and the ignorance of the people’s rights.

When asked if such rallies will be organised should Pakatan Rakyat (PR) rule in Putrajaya and still does not fulfil promises demanded at HKR, Hishamuddin said yes and that the people have the right to refuse any tyrannical leaders and governments.

3.4

He said this as a panel member at the Post KL112 Forum titled ‘Impact and Direction of the People’ organised by Pak Sako Academy located at the Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall, Kuala Lumpur (KLSCAH) last night.

The successful organisation of the last People’s Uprising Assembly (HKR112) which was carried out without violent incidences is a continuity of all rallies and demonstrations held since 1998.

During that time, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was stripped of his position of Deputy Prime Minister and was accused of involvement in a sodomy case causing the people to hold street demonstrations against the Umno-BN Government which was led by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Also present as panelists were PKR Deputy President, Azmin Ali and lyricist of the song Awan Nano, Hasmi Hashim and was attended by over 200 participants.

Selangor Trains Women To Save Themselves From Being Victims Of Crime

7.1

SHAH ALAM, Jan 13: Today, the Women Against Crime Campaign Programme organised by the Selangor State Government was well received by the women in Selangor.

Many who were met saw this campaign, which was launched at the Shah Alam Stadium Bazarena Site, is capable of creating awareness and to provide useful knowledge for women when dealing with criminals.

The campaign which was attended by 100 participants was launched by the Selangor Grant Steering Committee Chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail this morning.

7.2

According to Ina Fiona, 41, a participant of the campaign from Ampang, women should be serious towards safety guides and tips highlighted at the campaign.

“Guidance given such as carrying whistles and pepper sprays everywhere was previously unthinkable but after hearing the explanation, it is a valuable aid in times of panic.

“The self-defense moves shown in the earlier demonstration also seemed difficult, but it can be practiced, often training at home is needed,” she said.

7.3

Roslina Udin, 34, from Shah Alam meanwhile said that campaigns like this should be continued because women are often easy targets of criminals.

At the same press conference, Wan Azizah said that crimes against women have increased such as cases of snatch theft, murder, rape and so on, and what the Federal Government is doing is to only give the perception that the crime index has decreased.

Welfare, Women’s Affairs, Science, Technology, Innovation and Culture Exco, Rodziah Ismail said that previously, the State Government took measures to strengthen the One Stop Crisis Centre (OSCC) to assist women who are victims of rape or similar cases.

To date there are six hospitals providing OSCC services throughout Selangor.

“The launch of the Women Against Crime Campaign today is only the beginning and will continue throughout Selangor to ensure that women, particularly in Selangor, are able to share knowledge.

Earlier, during the launch of the campaign which was also attended by the Selangor Deputy Speaker, Haniza Talha and Rawang Assemblywoman, Gan Pei Nei, about 500 whistles, pepper sprays and safety tip cards were distributed to the public who were present at the Shah Alam Morning Market.

Apart from that, also featured in the same programme was a demonstration of simple measures that can be practised by women to escape when attacked by criminals.

Jana Niaga Should Be Responsible In Repairing Unisel Hostels

1

SHAH ALAM, 10 Jan: Jana Niaga Sdn Bhd (JNSB) should be fully responsible in repairing Universiti Selangor’s (Unisel) student hostels which are facing problems of soil settlement that is threatening the hostel’s building structure.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Anuar Ahmad said that as many as 44 hostel blocks that were built on former tin mine sites in 2002, are now unsafe to live in.

“The biggest mistake is that the location of the Unisel hostel is built on a mine site that did not undergo proper treatment.

“This problem from 2002 – 2005 was done perhaps only to make a quick profit and many or a portion, are still not known,” said Anuar when he was met here at his office.

He explained that the party that built it should have used the ‘accelerated settlement’ method where in the event of settlement, it will not threaten the overall security of the building structure.

He added that there are also sewage system problems causing Unisel to shoulder the problem.

“Two years after the completion of the hostel, only then did the sewage system treatment complete in 2007, while the students have occupied it (the hostel) since 2005, so where was the sewage dumped,” he said.

He said that Unisel is in the process of terminating their contract with Jana Niaga due to some breach of terms and agreement.

Currently, students are being hosed in a temporary accommodation in Kota Puteri, Ijok; Azalea Court Bandar Tasik Puteri, Rawang; Mega Crystal Resort, Kuala Selangor; Taman Ilmu in Bestari Jaya and Bukit Minyak, around the Kuala Selangor district.

He said that Unisel also provides a shuttle bus service with a monthly rental rate of RM200 per month including transportation, electricity as well as a security service.

“The State Government has already allocated RM10 million which has already been deposited into Unisel’s account and if Jana Niaga does not carry out reparations, we will terminate their contract,” he said.

Previously, the Selangor Government had allocated RM20 million for reparation works of the hostel should JNSB fail to be responsible.

Umno-BN 50 Years = Five Religious Schools, Selangor PR Five Years = Five Religious Schools

1.1

BANGI, 7 Jan: In only four years, the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat (PR) Government managed to build five (Islamic) primary religious schools (SRA or Sekolah Rendah Agama) in Bangi while the Umno-BN Government took 50 years to build the same number of schools.

The newest school is a four-storey SRA which is under construction at Kampung Sungai Tangkas, using an allocation of RM2.5 million from the State Government.

The school is the fifth built after Pakatan Rakyat started administration in March 2008.

Bangi Assemblyman, Dr Sharie Abu Bakar said that the building of the new school is being built on two acres of land. The project was approved by the State Government in September 2011 and is expected to fully complete in December this year.

According to him, it is able to accommodate more students in Bangi to pursue a better and more organised Islamic education.

“The approval to build an SRA in Sungai Tangkas was very fast. After the Pakatan Rakyat Government started administration, the village head was asked to look for a site.

“The school consists of two four-storey buildings equipped with 30 classes and a canteen.

“It is able to accommodate the needs of residents in the area to send their children to religious schools. The State Government under Pakatan Rakyat is very concerned about the development of Islamic education.

“In the Bangi constituency alone, there are 10 schools. Five of them were built during the governance of Datuk Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim,” he said this afternoon during a speech in conjunction with the Mesra Rakyat Programme and the Thanksgiving Feast at Kampung Sungai Tangkas.

The programme was also joined by the Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, Serdang MP, Teo Nie Ching, Hulu Langat MP, Dr Che Rosli She Mat and the President of the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj), Datuk Hasan Nawawi Abdul Rahman.

Meanwhile, Abdul Khalid said that the construction of the SRA in the area will facilitate the local residents to send their children to school.

According to him, the State Government will continue to monitor the construction of the school to ensure that it is completed within the stipulated time.

Unisel Provides Temporary Accommodation for ‘Bestari Jaya’ Students

5

SHAH ALAM, 3 Jan: For safety reasons, Universiti Selangor (Unisel) has transferred 2,000 students residing in the Bestari Jaya hostels to some off-campus residences.

The measure was taken to make way for repair works around the campus area which is expected to take about 12 months.

Unisel Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Anuar Ahmad said that they are currently waiting for response from Jana Niaga Sdn Bhd (JNSB), the company responsible for managing the hostel, about the repair works.

“Since the letter was sent on December 27, we have yet to receive any response from JNSB whether they are willing to bear the cost of repairs or not.

“If they remain silent, we will assume that they are not interested.

“However, we will continue repair works with the help and support of the State Government,” explained Anuar who was accompanied by Higher Education Exco, Dr Halimah Ali in a press conference here, this morning.

In the meantime, Halimah said that the State Government has allocated RM20 million for the hostel’s repair works if JNSB refuses to cooperate.

Unisel, Bestari Jaya campus students that begin registration on January 11 will be placed at temporary accommodations at Bandar Taski Puteri, Rawang and Kota Puteri, Ijok, as well as several other accommodations in the Ijok area.

They will also be provided transportation services, internet services and security officers.

Anuar explained that students will still have to pay RM200, the same rate as the original hostel.

On December 20, it was reported that, upon request by Unisel, the Public Works Department (JKR) Maintenance Division, conducted a survey around the Unisel hostel area at the Bestari Jaya campus.

The survey found that the land is suffering from serious sediment that it is disrupting the smooth running of sewage, drainage and underground cable systems.

Following that, on December 26, JKR suggested that repair works to be conducted quickly and the hostel buildings should be vacated of its occupants.

2013: Efforts Doubled to Meet The People’s Ideals + CM Video

4.1

SHAH ALAM, 31 Dec: For four years since March 2008, the Pakatan Rakyat Selangor Government has successfully governed the state well and with satisfaction.

As noted in the National Audit Department Report, particularly on the state’s finances which have been managed efficiently and prudently.

Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that the Selangor government has successfully managed to increase government cash reserves from RM400 million in 2008 to RM2.5 billion as of October 2012.

4.2

“Around RM800 million has been given back to the people through more than 20 welfare programmes in the ‘Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor’ (MES or Localising the Selangor Economy) policy,” said Abdul Khalid in his 2013 New Year’s address.

He explained that the State Government is working hard to improve the standard of living of every citizen without practising discrimination.

“It is fair that my thanks go out to the people of Selangor for giving their support to the Pakatan Rakyat-led State Government since March, 2008.

“The Selangor State Government prioritises the people’s welfare of all races, all religion, every culture and regardless of their political affiliation,” said Abdul Khalid.

He added that the people and Selangor is fortunate to be ruled by a Sultan who is caring and concerned about the welfare and problems of the people.

For the Muslim people, His Royal Highness the Sultan, as the Head of Islam, always reminds Muslims to implement Islamic teachings.

For non-Muslims, from 2009, the State Government has allocated an amount of RM3 million and since 2010, a total of RM4 million (has been allocated) each year to assist non-Muslim places of worship.

4.3

“The Selangor Government administration is now showing a good level of administrative reform and with the reform, various achievements can be seen.

“In maintaining this success, I wish to convey a message to all people that this state belongs to all of us and the ‘Selangorku’ logo which we use, symbolises; “Selangor is always at the heart of the people”,” said Abdul Khalid.

He explained that Selangor is now trying to fulfil the needs of the people according to priority and ability.

This will be revealed in 2013, the State Government is preparing to start the construction of the third bridge in Klang which is over 2 kilometres with six lanes which before this, has been failed to be fulfilled by BN.

“By absorbing the cost of RM300 million, which will be fully using the State Government’s provisions,” he said

Abdul Khalid said that to meet the demands of various groups in owning their own homes, 6,470 low-cost housing units have been provided.

It was built with RM42 thousand and below per unit and has been successfully completed in the Petaling district, Hulu Langat, Gombak, Sepang and Kuala Selangor.

This amount does not include the 12,481 units that are currently under construction and are being planned.

For medium-cost houses, from RM100,000 and below, a total of 3,925 units have been completed in districts in Petaling, Klang, Hulu Langat, Gombak, Sepang, Kuala Selangor and Kuala Langat.

4.4

“The Selangor Government extends our heartfelt gratitude to the people, of all walks of life for cooperating, allowing for Pakatan to bring about improvements for the welfare of the general public.

“I hope that the people’s support will continue up to five years, which is after the 13th General Elections.

“This is so that the current State Government will be able to double its efforts to meet the aspirations of the people through other programmes for the collective prosperity and well-being,” said Abdul Khalid.

2012 Curtain Closes: Selangor Government Further Strenghtens, the Envy of Umno-BN

1.1

1.3

COMMENTS: As the 2012 curtain comes to a close, Pakatan Rakyat (PR) continues to prove its ability to govern states under its leadership with many resounding successes throughout its reign.

1.2

Among the achievements that are considered as major milestones of PR in 2012 includes the acknowledgement of the Auditor General, headed by Tan Sei Ambrin Buang, towards good fiscal management by Selangor, Penang, Kedah and Kelantan Governments.

According to the Auditor General’s 2011 Report (LKAN) which was tabled in Parliament on October 15, it clearly demonstrates the financial management of states under PR are far better, leaving behind states administered by Umno-BN.

Among the acclaimed in the LKAN report was that the monies raised by the Selangor Government has increased by R62.5 million compared to the previous year.

Selangor also recorded its own history when, for the first time, the State Government reserves reached more than RM2.5 billion.

Apart from that, the response of the people of Selangor towards various agendas under the ‘ Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor’ by the State Government has also been the envy of Umno-BN.

Until September 30, 2012, the State Government has spent RM766,913,379 for the success of 16 assistance programmes or assistance schemes, for the people of Selangor since the programme was launched.

At the same time, a total of 166,441 people of Selangor and 1,303,601 households have received various benefits from the programmes.

Among the programmes introduced are Free Water Supply, Selangor Microcredit Scheme (SkimSel), Children’s University Entrance Gift, Golden Age Friendly Scheme (SMUE), Selangor Children Heritage Fund (TAWAS), People’s Tuition Centre, Urban Microcredit Scheme (MiMBAR), Selangor Kindergarten Assistance Scheme (TUNAS) and People’s Care Assistance Scheme (SiKembar) as well as others.

Umno-BN Fights With Slander

1.3

Thus, it is not surprising when Umno-BN madly attacked and defamed the Selangor State Government to ensure that the richest state returns to to them.

Among the insane actions taken by Umno_BN includes the fictitious ‘Selangor Water Crisis’ advertisement project which was held at an apartment in Petaling Jaya on September 24.

However, this immoral political game shattered when several media, including TV Selangor itself, managed to sniff out the such activities.

On location of the filming, TV Selangor managed to be informed by several actors that they had paid RM50 for the success of several profanities describing ‘Water Crisis in Selangor’.

1.4

The filming also became hilarious when tankers supposedly supplying water to ‘victims of water crisis’ did not only no carry a drop of water, but the ‘victims’ themselves took tap water before filling it into buckets which were brought as filming props.

The residents were unhappy with the action and also notified that their homes have never experiences water outages as the fictional film was trying to depict.

Meanwhile in October, residents at Taman Medan Cahaya also became victims of Umno-BN’s dirty politics when they were manipulated to participate in a demonstration demanding 20 cubic metres of free water from the State Government.

1.5

However, the Block B Resident’s Association Chairman, Mohamad Fuad Jam Jam and a resident of Block H of the apartments involved, A Ramlee Yahya, informed that the involved apartment had already received free water supply since 2011.

In addition to that, Mohamad Faud also informed that before the demonstration was held, the association was informed by the demonstration organisers that the main purpose of the demonstration was to protest the publication of a film that insulted Prophet Muhammad, thus causing confusion among the residents.

Ever-Increasing Political Violence

Due to mounting pressure to return to power in PR states and to maintain power in Putrajaya, Umno-BN has been continuously acting insanely by violently hindering PR’s advancement.

1.6

Several violent incidences involving Umno-BN supporters against PR supporters at a ‘ceramah’ site, either in Selangor or other states, have become among the heated topics of 2012.

Lately, at an incident at Negeri Sembilan, ANAK Information Chief, Naraza Muda was wounded in the head and passed out after being beaten with a sharp stick by Umno-BN supporters in the Orange Travel Convoy on December 23 recently.

Meanwhile, two PR supporters also suffered injuries after being attacked by a sharp weapon by Umno-BN supporters at a PR ‘ceramah’ in Gombak on December 4.

1.7

Another most talked about Umno-BN violent incident in 2012 was the series of attack on the ‘People’s Freedom Tour’ (Jelajah Merdeka Rakyat) convoy including the ‘Independant People’ (Merdeka Rakyat) bus which PKR Opposition Leader, Datuk Anwar Ibrahim, was travelling in.

What’s more unfortunate was that the the police themselves did not show eagerness to overcome these violent political issues, thus letting it continue.

Malay Reserve Land Mortgaged

1.8

Apart from violent actions against supporters of the opposition party, Umno-BN also shamelessly plays the race card to scare Malay voters into thinking that they would lose their political power.

However, unfortunately for Umno-BN, their efforts did not cause the maximum impact that they expected when their violent acts were also ridiculed by the general public.

In addition, Umno-BN’s patriotic action was also wasted with the expose of the old party’s betrayal of selling State Government-owned land and Malay reserve lands.

Inn Selangor alone, from 1999 to 2008, an estimate of 24 land lots belonging to the State Government, with an estimated value of RM300 million, which was obtained by Umno-BN in the Umno-BN administration era, was sold at a low price or were transferred to third parties.

Umno-BN was also smart in easily making money by inserting their interests in every transaction of the sale of land to third parties.

1.9

Thus, the people of Selangor should make a wise decision in the upcoming elections in 2013.

If measures in terms of performance, it is not a difficult choice for the people of Selangor because performance records of over four years under the Selangor PR administration and the Umno-BN’s administration records of 55 years, tells everything.
