Humorous Transformation, PR 10 Minutes, Umno-BN Live Broadcast

4

SHAH ALAM, 6 Apr: When Pakatan Rakyat (PR) is tirelessly travelling across the country to present the election manifesto to the people; Umno-BN has an easy way when its manifesto was broadcast live by government-owned and mainstream media.

This scenario is rather humorous when the assessment is made on the promise of mass media transformation, which is often propagated by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

“It is quite humorous when they (Umno-BN) offered 10 minutes to Pakatan Rakyat to present the manifesto (recorded),” said former Sungai Petani Member of Parliament, Datuk Johari Abdul to TV Selangor today on the matter.

The launch of the BN manifesto for the 13th General Elections (GE-13) by Najib at the Bukit Jalil Stadium in a special ceremony will be broadcast live by the mainstream media of the country.

Johari also questioned the live broadcast because the existing government is an interim government where Umno-BN as the administrator cannot use any government agencies or machinery for the party.

“I want to ask if Umno-BN is paying RTM or not for using government facilities. Legally, they (Umno-BN) cannot use it for the purpose of party work,” he said.

Johari claimed that Umno is making changes to its manifesto which is believed to have completed early but pulled back when PR launched their manifesto earlier.

For example, he said, the 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) was never debated in Parliament for the 2010, 2011 or even the 2012 budget.

“When PR prepared the Orange Book in 2010, which clearly stated therein the assistance of RM1,000 per year for the low-income Malaysian in particular, Umno-BN then launched the BR1M even though no budget was approved by Parliament.

“This shows that Umno-BN has run out of ideas. They will make adjustments to what they have and according to what has been proposed by PR. To me, Umno-BN has no originality and is merely a copycat,” he said.

‘Claims Land Grant In Kg Tiram Jaya Was Settled By BN. Noh Omar Cheats Village People’

3.1

SHAH ALAM, 2 Apr: Noh Omar’s statement that Umno-BN helped the residents of Kampung Tiram Jaya in Permatang to obtain land grants and denied the efforts of the State Government has not changed like nodding in murky waters.

The statement is also seen as an effort by the Minister of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industries to mislead and fool villagers, said Permatang State Legislative Assembly Coordinator, Yahya Sahri.

“He should speak like a minister, and not to issue statements a primary school child. He should speak with arguments and clear facts and evidence, not just emptily.

“The statement issued is childish, unwise, stupid and arrogant, not in par at all with his status as a minister and a Member of Parliament with five-terms of experience,” said Yahya when contacted by Selangor Kini.

3.2

Instead, Yahya explained the wisdom, transparency and efficiency of the current Pakatan Rakyat in managing to resolve the land ownership issues in Selangor, which for decades was not successfully resolved by the BN Government.

“This is because the previous government’s administration was dilapidated and had its own interests, in fact there were sinister efforts to acquire land which should belong to the people,” he added.

On March 12, a total of 139 residents of Kampung Seri Tiram Jaya received land grants from the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

In the meantime, Yahya challenged Noh to resolve the land ownership issues in Kampung Lembak Pantai Sungai Kajang, which has been on-going for more than 40 years.

“It is within his area, in these two weeks, if he is really the people’s champion as he goes around boasting, solve this problem,” he challenged.

Noh, who is also the Member of Parliament for Tanjong Karang in a post on ‘Facebook’, the social networking site, stated that the State Government only issued the grants to the residents, but the effort and premium payments were made during the BN administration.

Charles: Umno-BN Allegedly Registered Citizens Overseas As Voters

4.1

KLANG, 29 Mar: Umno-BN is allegedly involved in registering Malaysians overseas as voters to ensure that the party remains in power as the country’s government.

Following the situation, Klang Member of Parliament, Charles Santiago questioned the credibility of the Election Commission (EC) as an independent body when he exposed the case of residents in Klang living overseas in countries such as the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia, whose names were registered without their knowledge.

What’s more shocking is how the information on a citizen is obtained and can be registered as a voter without permission.

“The EC, as a body handling the elections should be fair in conducting internal investigations regarding this issue and to make a police report against parties involved.

“What’s more surprising is that it involves Umno-BN, because the information received for the registration on Dinesh s/o Siva Kumar, 32, was made by the Assistant Registrar of Umno, Hishamuddin Kassim. How could this have happened? Who signed the registration form?

“It also implicates links to the Immigration Department, the EC and Umno-BN in this conspiracy,” he said at a press conference today.

4.2

Dinesh’s father, K Siva Kumar, 64, explained that he was shocked to find that his son was registered as a voter to vote in the elections in this country.

He said that his son has been working as an engineer and has settled in the United Kingdom for more than 10 years, and that he had never registered as a voter or delegated someone for that purpose.

“I made a police report on 31 January but what is disappointing is that the EC did not cooperate on this matter.

“Through e-mail, the EC only states that my son’s registration was done on 7 March 2012 by Hishamuddin, who was then terminated on 27 April 2012 on some registry errors committed.

“The EC is seen as protecting Hishamuddin and Umno-BN when they did not answer several of my emails sent on 18, 19, 21 and 26 March,” he said on the complaint made to the Selangor EC.

Residents of Kg Felda Bukit Cherakah Finally Receive Land Grant

1.1

KUALA SELANGOR, 27 Mar: Under the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat Government, the decades of waiting for residents of Kampung Felda Bukit Cherakah to own land titles have finally been fulfilled.

The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim personally presented the 5A Form to 281 residents at the village mosque.

1.2

Resident, Torman Basri, 64, was clearly happy when his wait for over 22 years to own the land title was finally fulfilled in a short period of time.

“I wish to that the State Government for finally fulfilling my dream to receive the land ownership title after staying in this area for more than 22 years.

“We, the villagers, have applied for more than three times to receive the land rights since this village was developed. But today, it has been fulfilled. Even the premium price offered is reasonable to be paid by settlers like us,” he said.

The same feelings were shared by Faridah Hasbi Asari, 53, who described the granting of the 5A Form as proof of the State Government’s attentiveness towards the people.

1.3

“I am grateful and relieved for finally receiving what I have been waiting for. I wish to thank the State Government and the Kuala Selangor District Council for endeavouring to help residents to obtain the land title.

Meanwhile, Abdul Khalid in his speech stressed that the State Government will always ensure that any resident entitled will be given the land title of their homes.

He said after being given the 5A Form, residents need only pay a premium of RM1,000 to enable them to receive the grant.

“I hope that everyone is able to settle the premium payments. If they are not able to pay for it, we will ask them to work and give them a period of two months to pay. This land is for generations to come,” he said.

The 5A form is a land ownership grant from the State Government to a certain individual.

The forms can also be regarded as a conformation of land ownership by the individual with a premium of RM1,000 only.

During the era of the Umno-BN administration, recipients of the 5A form are required to pay a premium of at least 20 percent of the value of the land which caused there to be grant recipients from the low income group that had to refuse the grant as they could not afford to pay the high premium.

Also present was Kuala Selangor Member of Parliament, Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, the President of Kuala Selangor District Council (MDKS), Noraini Roslan and Kuala Selangor District Officer, Mohamad Yazid Bidin.

480 Affordable Homes Built In Sabak Bernam

4.1

SABAK BERNAM, 26 Mar: A total of 480 Affordable Homes (RMM) will be developed in Pachang Bedena with a price of below RM100,000 each.

Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that the project with an area of about 25 acres will involve a gross development cost of about RM85 million.

4.2

It will be fully developed by the State Government subsidiary company, Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB).

“Development in Sabak Bernam is important to ensure that young people will continue to live and get jobs in this area and we also want to develop the economy of young people in the area.

“The overall development is hoped to be implemented immediately and properly designed to be a sample project in Sabak Bernam,” said Abdul Khalid.

He said this during a press conference after the Ladang Air Manis Penchang Bedena Mixed Housing Development and the Rest and Recuperation (R&R) Centre Groundbreaking Ceremony here,

The quality housing at a reasonable price project is jointly developed with the mixed residential and commercial projects as well as a Rest & Recuperation (R&R) facility which is expected to be completed within two years.

4.3

Meanwhile low-medium cost housing and low-cost housing will be developed using the townhouse concept including the construction of three-storey shop offices and commercial lots.

“Other facilities include the construction of a Rest and Recuperation (R&R) and petrol stations to facilitate motorists using the main road through the area as well as to provide business and employment opportunities to the local people,” he said.

Also present at the ceremony was the Housing, Building Management and Squatters Exco, Iskandar Abdul Samad, the Sekinchan Assemblyman, Ng Suee Lim and Sabak Bernam District Officer, Zailani Kadir.

Selangor Government Realises Batu Caves Residents’ Dreams Of Receiving Land

2.1

Batu Caves, 23 Mar: The desires of residents from Kampung Nahkoda and Kampung Melayu Batu Caves Selatan to own land was finally realised and proves once again that the Selangor Government is attentive to the people’s demands.

This grant finally ended the wait of nearly 20 local residents who all this time had to fight to receive their rights although it was not realised many times by Umno-BN.

Muhammad Razali Abdullah from Kampung Bendahara was clearly happy with the premium price of RM1,000 charged by the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat Government.

“Alhamulillah we have finally received the land ownership rights which we have waited for almost 20 years. I wish to thank the Chief Minister (Tan Sri Abdul Khalid).

“We have long waited, but the process; we did not receive any news. Previously, we fought to get a low premium but we have waited a long time,” he said when met.

2.2

For Talib Shaari, also from Kampung Bendahara, various reasons were given by the Umno-Bn government, as well as political discrimination, had to be faced by him previously when applying for the title.

“The excuses may be political. When it was close to elections, they promised but it was never resolved. After Pakatan Rakyat (administered) for five years, the matter is finally resolved. Thank you very much,” he said happily.

Happiness was also expressed by Satiabama Thangaveloo, who is relieved that his dream to own the land has finally been realised.

2.3

They were all met after the Kampung Bendahara Ownership Presentation and the Presentation of the 5A Form Notice for Kampung Melayu Batu Caves Selatan here earlier.

In the ceremony which was executed by Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, a total of 18 people received the land ownership offer document, otherwise known as the 5A Form.

At the same time, 118 people received land grants.

Also present was the Selangor Housing Exco, Iskandar Abdul Samad, Gombak Member of Parliament, Azmin Ali, Selayang MP, William Leong and Batu Caves Assemblyman, Amirudin Shari.

In his speech, Abdul Khalid reminded the people of Selangor to take advantage of the RM1,000 premium for the land grant.

“The government also likes to own land. I have asked the District Officer and the village heads to descend and meet those who have yet to settle the payment.

“If they cannot pay, we will help them. If they do not want to pay because they don’t want the land, I am pleased because there are many in Gombak who want land,” he said.

In its first term, the Selangor PR Government has managed to give out more than 104,000 land grants to the people of Selangor.

“GE13 PKR” App, PKR’s Latest Weapon To Face Mass Media Competition

4

PETALING JAYA, 20 Mar: PKR today mobilised another latest ‘weapon’ in conjunction with the 13th General Elections (GE-13) by launching a combination app between smartphones and social media such as Facebook and Twitter.

The application has features such as latest news, electoral roll checking, an infographic bank filled with data and about big issues, and lecture videos, press conferences and campaign activities.

Also featured is twitter updates from the top leaders, event schedules and speeches of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and a profile bank of PKR candidates (after the nomination).

PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli said that PKR is the first political party to develop the integrated App to disseminate information throughout the GE campaign through social media.

He said that the Application named “PRU 13 PKR” (GE 13 PKR) has been developed for the Apple and Android platforms at this time.

“It will be able for download on iTunes and Market Place from the week beginning 25 March 2013 with the estimate that the House of Representatives will be dissolved no later than that week.

“PKR will promote this App starting today through a preview video which is available on Youtube,” he said.

Meanwhile, PKR De Facto Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, during the launching said that the role of social media is important because democracy is hampered by media access which is not free in this country.

“So that this application can be benefited from and it will be a great and fair competition by giving a choice to the people to listen to arguments and to evaluate views given,” said Anwar.

Recipients Of Land Title Promised To Believe in The Selangor PR Government

1.1

KUALA SELANGOR, 20 Mar: The Selangor Pakatan Rakyat (PR) Administration continues to receive praise for their endeavour to ensure that those who have been living on a piece of land for a long time are given titles to that land.

1.2

According to a recipient of the land title in Kampung Seri Aman, P.John Periasammy, 48, a resident of Kampung Harmoni, Ijok, the situation is different from the BN era, where they were only promised, but never followed through.

“Previously, during the time of BN, they also promised to solve the problem of this land title, but it was only lip service, it was never fulfilled.

“Now, it is different. PR seems to be earnestly helping us and today, we finally received the titles to the land of our homes.

“The State Government has fulfilled their promise and now, it is our turn to fulfill our responsibility to win the current State Government in the upcoming elections,” said P.John when met after the 5A Form Presentation Ceremony in the Kampung Harmoni Hall in Ijok yesterday.

1.3

A residents of Kampung Seri Sentosa, Amat Ali Yasin, 67, said he was very grateful to finally receive the title to the land which he has been occupying for over 50 years.

“Thank Allah, now I am relieved, I do not have to worry anymore because this land which I have been living on is legally owned by me,” he said.

Arragee Chiniyya, 53 who has been residing in Kampung Seri Sentosa said that this success reflects the attentiveness of the State Government towards the people.

“Today I am happy and I thank the Chief Minister who managed to solve my 30-year problem,” he said.

Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, in his speech said that as of now, more than 70,000 people have received land title grants throughout the period Pakatan Rakyat has governed Selangor.

“No matter what party, everyone has a title to their residential land, the State Government will strive to allow them to receive their rights.

“Similarly with the unused Malayan Railway land, I will give it to the residents there who have the right to it,” he said.

Yesterday, the 5A Form Presentation Ceremony was held at the Kampung Harmoni Hall here, where the forms were presented to 316 residents of Kampung Seri Sentosa, Kampung Sri Aman and Kampung Java Estet.

The 5A form is a land ownership grant from the State Government to a certain individual.

The forms can also be regarded as a confirmation of land ownership by the individual with a premium of RM1,000 only.

During the era of the Umno-BN administration, recipients of the 5A form are required to pay a premium of at least 20 percent of the value of the land which caused there to be grant recipients from the low income group that had to refuse the grant as they could not afford to pay the high premium.

State Government Instructs Local Authorities To Immediately Build An Alternative Road In Padang Jawa

4

SHAH ALAM, 19 Mar: The State Government will be instructing the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) to speed up the construction of an alternative road in Parit Besar, Padang Jawa, following the death of a teenager who used the shortcut there.

Welfare, Women’s Affairs, Science, Technology, Innovation and Culture Exco, Rodziah Ismail said that the alternative route is to replace the existing route which compromises the safety of the residents.

According to her, the step has to be taken following the death of a teenager, Nur Alisa Balqis Mohd Zakir, 1, who slipped into the storm drain at about 4pm yesterday.

“Several measures have to be drastically taken, especially to the route (shortcut) used by residents that risks lives. Most teenagers use the railway crossing and cross the storm drain to go home.

“This problem has been observed over the past three years where an effort to provide an alternative route has been underway.

“Assistance from the State Government has been given to speed up the construction works for the road.

“As the assemblyman (of the constituency), I hope that it will be completed quickly so that the residents can used a safer route,” she said when conducting a survey of the area in Parit Besar, Padang Jawa.

According to newspaper reports, Nur Alisa, together with three of her friends fell into the storm drain when using the pathway next to the drain when it was raining heavily.

However, two of her friends managed to escape while another friend was successfully rescued about 500 meters from the scene.

However, Nur Alisa was unable to be located when the firemen carried out a search and rescue, including using the diving team.

The victim’s body was then found two days later, floating in the Klang River.

Faekah: Mahathir A Liability To Najib’s 1Malaysia Slogan

faekah-husin-22

Open Letter To Tun Dr. Mahathir By Faekah

The statement issued by former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed in Klang recently, I think, has crossed the line and is more of a liability to the 1Malaysia slogan which is being carried by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Dr Mahathir claimed that the future and privileges of the Malay community, as well as the purity of Islam will be threatened if Pakatan Rakyat remains in power in Selangor.

His statement shows that he has been long left behind in the country’s political development.

Dr Mahathir is still singing old songs; songs of racism and those that scare the Malay community, as well as to refresh ethnic clashes after the seeds of hatred on race and people of other religious affiliations which he planted among the people in his 22-year reign.

Dr Mahathir should be aware that when he expresses words of insult on Islam, he was in the Royal Town of Klang, the town of the Selangor Sultanate pride.

The Pakatan Rakyat administration has handed over Islamic religious affairs to the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) and to the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) without political interference.

Indeed, the head of Islam in this state is His Royal Highness (DYMM) the Sultan of Selangor and he safeguards the sanctity of Islam and is always defending the interests of the Muslims.

The state government agrees, obeys and respects whatever decision the Sultan of Selangor makes in regards to the purity and development of Islam. How then is it possible that the sanctity of Islam can be threatened under the administration of Pakatan Rakyat. Dr Mahathir’s accusations is extreme outspokenness, that even insults the Religious and Royal Institutions of this state.

In Selangor, JAIS has been given the highest allocation in the State Budget; exceeding RM130 million a year. In terms of development, we have spent more than RM405 million to build mosques and religious schools, and more than RM46 million to restore mosques and religious schools throughout the period of 2008-2012.

m2

We have also increased the allowances of KAFA School teachers from RM400 during the administration of Dr Mahathir to RM1300 today. The recognition which we have given is one of the ways we increase religious knowledge among Malay-Muslim students as human capital investment.

Instead, during the administration of Dr Mahathir, the People’s Religious Schools and Tahfiz Schools were often threatened with dissolution. Various superficial reasons were given by Dr Mahathir.

There have also been a lot of derogatory statements which he issued then, among them were; Malay children who were in morning sessions at national schools and who go to religious schools in the afternoons will be tired and weak in their studies.Seeing that there are not many benefits to attending religious schools in the afternoon, just memorise prayers of grace and for going to the toilet alone.

For Dr Mahathir, the practice of staying up late to perform Qiamullail only makes Malay children lack sleep thus weakening their brain cells, making them slow and left behind in their studies.

The people in this state has yet to forget the insult and if it is necessary to state one by one, the way Dr Mahathir has treated Islam as well as the insults against Muslims, we ourselves will feel embarrassed by the non-Malays and the non-Muslims because there are those among us who has such an ugly attitude. Suddenly today, Dr Mahathir is trying to be a champion of religion.

It is true what a famous Ulama in this said, that a person who is called ‘Ex’ means that their words and their views are no longer relevant. Do not turn to look, just let them yell without paying heed..

This is very appropriate with Dr Mahathir’s current situation. It seems like he is still having illusions and experiencing denial symptoms that he has been a ‘former’ for nearly 10 years.

Dr Mahathir also made evil allegations that the fate of the Malay community might be compromised if the opposition rules Selangor. Mahathir needs to know that Umno is the opposition in Selangor; unhesitantly issuing words and slips of the tongue is indeed the nature of a 10-year former who fails to accept the fact that power is not his anymore.

We do not deny that Dr Mahathir continued the New Economic Policy (NEP) with its original mission to help the Malay community. Unfortunately, it is clear that the policy failed in its implementation because of unfair distribution of wealth and because it was not transparent.

Cronyism; enriching those with connections have become widespread and is made ‘halal’ on the basis of safeguarding the interests of the Malay community. The 30 percent target for Malay equity was not met because of abuse of power and corruption practised.

Only a handful of Malays who have contact with Umno leaders enjoy the privileges while the majority of the Malay community are left behind and remains in their old position.

To Dr Mahathir, Malays mean Halim Saad, Tajudin Ramli, Syed Mokhtar and a handful of other names including Mokhzani and Mukhriz Mahathir. Does Dr Mahathir mean that safeguarding the interests of the Malays is to protect the interest of the handful of names above?

It is not our policy to expose what Umno has done during their rule in Selangor. We note that because of their gluttony, they robbed the state revenue and thus they were punished in 2008.

However, Dr Mahathir’s extreme accusations have made me excited to reveal some of what is said to be ‘safeguarding Malay interests’. Through random checks, we have found hundreds of acres of land owned by Umno Selangor on the basis of Malays and Bumiputera.

m3

When this was revealed recently at the Selangor State Assembly, they arrogantly asked what was wrong with taking the people’s land because they claim that it was them who developed this state!!

Hundreds of acres of land were acquired by only paying the bare minimum premium of RM100 for every acre. Most of the land has now been developed and sold for hundreds of millions to private companies that are not owned by the Bumiputera community.

I do not mean to question the ownership of land by non-Bumiputeras but the hypocritical attitude of Umno which is so insufferable. Strangely, when selling the property to private companies at a massive profit, they do not cheer ‘Long Live Malays’!!

Why did Dr Mahathir not prevent these Umno leaders from forfeiting the land of these Malays to non-Malays? Where has the proclaimed sovereignty, dignity and self-worth of Malays gone?

We also found that during the reign of Umno in Selangor, thousands of acres of Malay Reserve Land located in the city were pulled out and turned into freehold. The land was then replaced by land in the outskirts of villages such as Panchang Bedena, Sabak Bernam and in Hulu Selangor.

Therefore Malay Reserve Land is located far from the city because to Umno, Malays should live deep in villages.

Because of that too, when the Pakatan Rakyat government endeavoured to increase the standard of living of the Malay community by giving the opportunity to own world-class assets such as the Datum Jelatek development, Umno vociferously objected to the development. Umno wants Malays to remain trading at stalls with the mentality of stall owners.

Dr Mahathir also is the person responsible for introducing the concept of privatisation in this country.Just like DEB, privatisation also has noble aims however the flawed execution and errant ways have become a burden to the people, but heaven to cronies and Umno leaders.

The closest example for Selangor is the privatisation of the water concessions. Although lacking in expertise and financial capability, but because he is the Treasurer of Umno Selangor, a Malay, thus the water industry concession which is worth billions of ringgit was given to him.

He finally enjoyed extreme wealth on the misery of the people who have to bear the water bill which does not correspond with the services rendered. Not one word was heard from Dr Mahathir when the people of Selangor fought to defend their water rights. Dr Mahathir pretended to live in a different world.

m4

Where was Dr Mahathir’s voice when we discovered Umno’s betrayal when they gave thousands of acres of land and hundreds of millions of ringgits in contracts to Tan Sri Chan Ah Chai through the Talam Group of Companies? Why was Mahathir quiet when we revealed that Talam owed RM392 million to the people of Selangor for almost a decade, which was failed to be claimed by Umno?

Does Dr Mahathir know that Pakatan Rakyat has the political power to collect these debts? Has Dr Mahathir realised that Pakatan Rakyat has returned the RM390 million to the poor people in this state, most of whom are Malays?

We cannot fathom how he could accuse Pakatan Rakyat of destroying the Malay community unless we accept the fact that age has weakened his power of thought.

Earlier I tried to not remind of the damage done by Dr Mahathir to most of the important institutions in the country, which for 22 years, was under his rule.

The police, the Judiciary, Public Service, all have chaotic and have lost their integrity. But seeing that he is excited about playing the ‘de facto’ Prime Minister maybe because the current Prime Minister is so weak and has failed, therefore the people, especially the Malays who ‘easily forget’ should be reminded that a person named Mahathir who caused chaos to the Malay union, especially during the dark incident of the 1988 Judicial Body and the ‘Mata Lebam’ (Bruised Eye) incident in 1998.

This has yet to touch on how Malaysia lost billions of ringgit in the currency game by his confidant who i currently the Deputy Minister of Finance.

The exposure of (the late) Barry Wain in his book stating that during the administration of Dr Mahathir, Malaysia lost at least RM100 billion because of corruption and abuse of power, has still yet to be answered by him till this day.

The latest serious issue is when the investigation of the Royal Commission of Sabah Citizenship revealed Dr Mahathir’s direct involvement in selling citizenship to foreigners (who were certainly not Malay) merely to stay in power.
Without shame or regret towards the people of Malaysia, Dr Mahathir admitted to it and was even willing to drag the late Tunku Abdul Rahman into the issue.

It feel as though there are no suitable or worthy words that can be said about the man named Mahathir when we reflect on all the damage he had done. Far deep in my heart I think that surely Dr Mahathir is grateful that the Internal Security Act (ISA) has been abolished in this country.Sometimes I think, would it be best if it were the opposite..!!!

More Than 10,000 Land Ownership Problems Successfully Resolved By Selangor PR Government

4.1

TANJONG KARANG, 12 Mar: More than 10,000 problems in relation to land ownership have been successfully settled by the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat Government since five years ago.

Selangor Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that the application for land ownership has also increased due to the improvements in the application system which is now more efficient by using a computer system.

Now, he said, it is fully understood how the system works.

He said this in a press conference after the Kampung Seri Tiram Jaya Submission of Land Ownership Ceremony in Tanjong Karang, which was held here at the Seri Tiram Jaya Hall.

During the event, 188 ownership grants were given to 139 residents of Kampung Seri Tiram Jaya, which in total covers an area of 204 acres of land.

“The people of Kampung Seri Tiram Jaya has been reminded to keep the ownership of the property well for the future of their family by not selling it without proper planning,” said Abdul Khalid.

4.2

Also present at the event was the Bukit Melawati Assemblyman, Ir Muthiah Pillay and the President of the Kuala Selangor District Council, Noraini Roslan.

According to the Kampung Seri Tiram Jaya JKKK (Village Association) Chief, Mohamad Feroji Kemat, he said that the residents expressed gratitude in granting the land ownership which the residents settled since the 1970s.

He said that the granting of this ownership proves that State Government’s ability to solve ongoing problems as a result of their efforts to appreciate the sacrifices of the settlers who opened the area.

“We feel proud of perseverance of the administrative officers who were attentive to the land problems where efforts of less than five years have finally resulted in the resident owning the title to their own land.

“If it wasn’t for the determination of these officers, the grant would not be ready,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Permatang constituency Coordinator, Yahya Sahri said that the resolve of the land ownership problem proves that the State Government is earnest in giving priority to the people’s welfare rights.

He said that the capabilities of the Kuala Selangor Land and District Office to accelerate the process of solving this land problem is because there is no political interference that eased the matter from being resolved quickly.

“Granting this ownership was given to those who were entitled without any political interest where they settled it previously, this shows the State Government’s transparency and sincerity in giving ownership of the land.

“We choose this date, 12 March, as the anniversary of Abdul Khalid Ibrahim being sworn in as Chief Minister five years ago, indicating that this is a reformist government which implemented changes in its administration,” said Yahya.

Attack On HQ, PKR Regrets That The Police Did Not Take Action

3

PETALING JAYA, 12 Mar: PKR today expressed regret that the police force did not take any action to stop violent acts by three pro Umno-BN NGOs that attacked the party headquarters here, yesterday evening.

PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli said that the police action to merely to ‘cross their hands’ (berpeluk tubuh) when the attack happened is deemed as embarrassing, even more so since the Tropicana Police Station was located only two doors away from the PKR headquarters.

According to him, apart from being violent, these Umno-BN followers also threatened to burn the party’s headquarters, altogether proving that it was a criminal threat.

“I have advised the supreme leadership of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to be concerned about violent incidences which are on the rise and to impose tough action against the masterminds.

“PDRM’s top leaders should also reject any enemies who try to take advantage of the invasion incident in Lahad Datu to suppress political opponents such as those happening now,” he said in a press conference at the PKR headquarters this morning.

Rafizi said that similar incidents have also occurred in Malacca (involving PKR Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) and in front of Batu Member of Parliament, Tian Chua in Jalan Ipoh, last week.

Rafizi also did not deny claims that organised attacks by Umno-BN, taking advantage of the invasion incident in Lahad Datu as a political capital to create hatred towards Anwar.

“This series of aggression has increased recently in conjunction with a defamation campaign attempting to link Anwar and other PKR leaders who allegedly masterminded the invasion event in Lahad Datu.

“In fact, I do not rule out the possibility of political hatred produced by the invasion in Lahad Datu used by certain quarters in Umno-BN to ensure that Anwar himself is arrested, investigated and charged under the security law,” he said.

Yesterday, supporters of the pro Umno-BN NGO threw eggs, sticks and traffic cones towards PKR supporters outside the party headquarters.

The three groups, consisting of 50 people, also burned the PKR flag outside the premises.

The assembly was organised by the Malaysian Malay Network (JMM), the Heritage Organisation and the Malaysian Children Welfare, Selangor (Waris Malaya) as well as the Reject the Individual Called Anwar Ibrahim (TIBAI).
